I will be getting my engine rebuilt soon and was wondering which cam was best for my combo. I'm not looking for a roller cam or anything, just a basic rebuild ( .030 over ). I may get ported heads also. I know there are alot out there, but which give the most bang for the buck. Also, which have had problems, if any? Thanks.

I would say a Speed-pro 204-214, 206 and 212 Comp Cams grinds all work well. Frank

I've got a 206 206 Comp cam and I like it. Good for a "milder" buildup. It idles well and sounds good. No problems yet *KNOCK ON WOOD*

I've got the 204/214 and love it, any of the above should work well.

Cam

Don't get any cam till you get your heads done than flow the heads and match your cam that is how you do it right along with turbo>inj>stall they all need to be matched JUSTAV6

A guy on the board is supposed to take some pix of heads he wants to sell me today. He hasn't sent any yet though. I'll try to get the heads and get my builder to flow them before final cam selection. Thanks again.

Like it was said before you must first know if you are getting head work before decideing on a cam size.

All I know about the heads right now are that they were ported to Felpro 1200 gaskets. The only problem I'm having about deciding whether to buy them or not is the casting numbers on the heads. They're not 8445s. I have another thread going trying to see if they are as good as the 8445s but noone has responded yet.

I am no expert but everything i have ever read or heard on here is if they are not 8445 you dont want them
