My dash lights are constantly going out, and the fuse for them is constantly getting blown. (The number 5) I tried putting a 10 in there, but it blows shortly after driving.

My car has a turbobuicks 200a alternator and a Delco 78-72 battery, which I'm sure is producing a lot of voltage. Should I step up the fuse to a 20-25-30? Can I seriously damage something by doing this?

Has anyone else had to do this?

You have a wiring issue or defective component on that circuit.

Upping the fuse won't help and is not likely battery or alternator related assuming your voltmeter reads normally during the time it blows.

IE under 15 volts and over 12.

Most likely cause would be a console shift light wire pulled from its socket and occasionally grounding out on shifter metal.

Plenty of other things on that circuit as well, radio light hookups, gauge light hookups, dimmer switch. etc.
