Looking at subs for my sister, it's a little early but I found some sales, she wants JL'S but she can get them much later if she wants. These will be pushed by a 600w kenwood amp.

Citcuit city has 2 12" MTX Thunder 400w for $89.99, or 2 12" Thunder 500w for $199.99

Sears has 2 12" IMPP Pioneer 400w for $99.98

Best Buy has 2 12" Lightning Audio 500w for $79.99 or 2 12" RFZ2412/RFZ2812 FOR $99.99

Which ones to get???

I am not an audio expert, but I did quite a bit of researching early this year for a system for myself. I would not get the Lightning Audio subs. Out of those that you listed, I like the MTX's. Those aren't the model number's though. The Thunder 4000's are the lowest model, they run <$100 for a pair. For $199.00 for the pair, maybe you are talking about the Thunder 6000's. But if you are willing to spend that kind of money, I would highly recommend the Infinity Kappa Perfect sub. The 12.1 has 350 watts RMS and 1400 watts max. I bought just one 12" for my 240sx fastback, put it in the recommended 1.75 cu. ft. ported box, and that thing was crazy. It hit harder than any system I had heard, better than my friend's two 12" JBL's, and better than my other friend (the audio expert) with 2 10"s and a 12" (he was pissed). The only set-up that sounded better was a truck (of course) with 2 12" Excelon Db's (Kenwood), he was making a dime vibrate and float above the roof of the truck! Good luck.
