Does he need a larger servo at his power level. Is he in danger of hurting his trans if he doesn't get one. Please answer the question. DOES HE NEED A LARGER SERVO?
Probably not but a new billet is easier to source than anything else. Id do a pan/pickup first in all instances if i wanted to avoid burning the band/forward clutches since the slosh under g-force will have a very negative effect on pump pressure way before the servo will fall short.

x2.

If the old servo piston pin bores are worn out, which doesn't take too many miles for that, then it's either repair the pin bores or go for an available aftermarket piece, which are all larger than the OEM piece. I've never tried Chris' servo, but if it retains the cushion, that's a good thing. I like the Sonnax setup using the cushion. Very well made kit. The Superior kit, which is very simple, doesn't allow for the use of the cushion and you get into the clunking on 2-1 downshift.

So what are the better servos to use that use the cushion and how much are they?

Well said. I do tend to forget about all the parts that are no longer available. I can't think of a more beneficial next step for him than the pan/pickup. Good call.

Don,
I'm 99% certain I've used the cushion spring with the Superior.
I always use the cushion spring and before Chris got his servo's onthe market I was using Superiors from my trans supplier.
I've used the Sonnax as well.
I've also used the BTO, 200 3 speed, and some others.

Here's a question for some of you guys.
I have a large pile of 692 servos. I shipped a bunch to Brian awhile back too.

What is a reasonable power level for the 692's with 240-250 psi line.
350-400 HP?

I could be wrong about that. It's been so long since I've used the Superior.
