Which temp. sending unit to replace?

Which temp. sending unit is to be replaced when doing a water temp. guage? I looked at the diagram and it said the one on top of the manifold was the coolant temp. sensor. Poston told me to replace the one on the front of the manifold for the water temp. guage? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The one with the single wire is the the "idiot light". The two wire is for the computer. I replaced the single wire one with the guage piece and I don't worry about the light anymore. I always watch my guages.

Thanks for the reply. Thats the one I replaced, on front of the manifold with one wire, the intake diagram had me second guessing myself.
