My GN sits quite a bit unfortunately...especially here in AZ in the summer...I noticed some white deposits(crusty) at each end of the "S" hose which I'm assuming are mineral deposits but I only run Distilled Water and RMI...so how can that be...there are no deposits around the ends of any of the other hoses...

So no one has had this happen or has an idea why it happened?...I'm going to remove the hose and just wondered if I should just clean it up and put the hose back on or replace the hose...

Scott, I know you do not drive your GN often, but when was the last time you flushed the cooling system?

RMI has a limited life, and I usually refresh it with an 8 oz. dose once a year, and flush every 2-3 years in a very low mileage car.

Like was said, sounds like electrolysis because of the dis-similar metals, and the RMI effectiveness being used up. :)

might be a good idea to toss in a sacrificial anode when you flush it if electrolysis is happening.

If the cooling system is properly and routinely maintained with RMI-25, it will protect against electrolysis and other corrosive elements. :)

While I dont have mineral crud on my hoses I do run distelled, RMI25 and a GN1 extreme radiator.
I had electrolysis building up in my radiator 2-3 tenths a volt actually.
Batt pos to batt neg engine running 14.3.
Batt pos to radiator tank 14.4-.5.
Ran a ground from radiator to ground and now it reflects system voltage.
RMI25 may not ward off the electrolysis in my case but it keeps the cooling system oh so clean!!!!
