Anybody here have a gear vendors overdrive?
How do you like it?
Is it on a street car, or a track car occasionally on the street "car shows etc.".

Was it worth the money?

Thanks Guys. ;)

I have customers who have them only about 500 RPM drop. Aside from what they claim not a very durable unit or worth the $$$.

Not sure on not being durable, its rated to 1200 hp, It requires maintenance every 5000 miles, to clean the filter inside and change the oil. It shifts firm on engage and when it comes off overdrive it has a big "thud" but its the nature of the design supposed. Weighs 46 lbs and at 70 mph its roughly a 600 rpm drop. I just got fed up of breaking the 200 each year and getting blamed by my builder its always my fault.lol

I have a TH400 with a Gear Vendors that is driven under a 1k miles per year. The car is street raced, driven to and from the track, and driven on the Eway. The car is set up pro-touring and I like to drive on the Eway at high speeds. If you have the TH400 and are just driving the car on the street than it is not needed, but if you are planning any high speed traveling than it is a must in my opinion. It does not reduce the rpm's as much as OD on a 200 but is close. The Gear Vendor OD can also be shifted in between shifts so it can help racing from a roll. It can be set for automatic engagement or it can be engaged by a floor switch similar to an old headlight dimmer. It is a cool piece.

Price and pics please....;) When you say automatic engagement what does that mean? Is it set up to go into overdrive at a certain speed or rpm? Does one need to fabricate anything to make it fit? Thanx....

I should be able to take some pictures this weekend. The unit has a control module that I have mounted in the center console which has a large flip switch that lights up. This switch controls manual and automatic engagement which I believe is 45 mph in any gear. I think it was around 18 for the high performance unit and the biggest issue with the install was the drive shaft loop. My ultimate goal is to have this and my trans controlled with a paddle shifter.
