Who has refoamed their seats? I sit too high

Hi all,

So back when I restored the GN I bought new foams from NOS4GN. They are higher density than the OEM stuff. Although I feel way better sitting on them support wise, I sit too high. Has anyone tried to deal with this by shaving some material off the bottom? I may take a crack at this at some point and wanted to know if anyone else had success. Thanks!

Mine sits a little higher.Do you have a power seat?If not that might be the reason for yours sitting too high.Just pull the t tops out and let your head stick out the roof till you get that seat broke in.

The bottom of the seat rides on steel wires suspended from the edges of the outer frame. You could drop the edges a bit if you were creative with some large hog rings.

Maybe a shop specializing in automotive re-upholstery could cut out a layer of the seat cushion foam in question & replace it with a lower density foam ?
