Open K&N on the end of a straight MAF pipe works best.

IMHO

You don't like hanging it behind the front valance Dan? :)

Behind the front mount or tied onto the 3" downpipe ;)

Ok, heres the deal. The car is set up for NHRA stock class racing. It uses a stock turbo, and Motec, so no mass air. We were told that is went the fastest with no pipe, filter, or anything. Right now it's just the turbo. Wondering if I should change it.

You don't get nervous about sucking in unfiltered air to that turbo impeller? I would!

I like ducting it through the fender area to outside the engine bay behind the valance but the resident forum experts think that's BS and is not necessary or beneficial, so I'd say like the original reply, K&N at the end of a hard-pipe.

The car doesn't run on the street. I could show you a host of cars at the Nats that have no filter. But yes the thought has crossed my mind : )

The car also has the louviers on on the hood opened up. Has there ever be any gains from that?
