I'm pretty sure my dad was a member before the crash (kjhansen) and I know he joined in May01. I do recall when we were working on his T in '99 talking about a site where he got a lot of info from.

Bruce Plecan, the guy was a friggin genius. Do a search. Reading "bliss" for technical guys.
Yes he was, I loved reading his tech stuff, even tho must of the time it was way over my head...
Many of Bruces tech stuff is saved on many BB's
I was here BBC ;)

Been around for a while. Not as long as a few but more than most.

I was here during "The Big One".

John, who was Bruce?

Some called him the Mad Scientist. The guy could think out side the box like no one else here. He would also take the time to share his findings as he was experimenting with stuff. He had a way of challenging many of us (including myself) to step outside our comfort zone, and try "crazy stuff".:)

I miss that guy.

Wow, time does fly. I remember being on GN-TTYPE and the whole list serve thing.
I was on for the crash as well.
If I remember right, I still had the Olds 307 in my 87, and was looking into the whole motor swap thing back then. There are quite a few old timers still around on the site today. Although yeah, sadly, "Bruce" isn't among us. I remember the one thread about discussing the cooling effect of adding fuel, thus possibly making a "hot air" car faster by adding fuel than by adding a cooler to the setup. Guy was a genius. Reading his posts made my head hurt..

My car still has the original logo in the original website color scheme. :)

I miss that board.

Letters made by the legendary Buick From Hell, IE: Kevin.

I feel old now looking via the "Wayback Machine".

Then again I remember Mr. Peabody and Sherman using the original "Wayback Machine" too. :p

When using wayback machine, how comes when you try clicking on the links it doesn't bring up the topic?

Ah yes the crash in the spring of 2001, I'm thinking the mailing list also was running at this time, so had two means of entertainment and gain of knowledge.

The crash reinforced my habit of clipping key pieces of information into text files and saving to to local hard drive. Otherwise useful information slipped away with crashes of the board or passing of time on the mailing list.

Have saved clips back to 1999, but most of the nuggets are obsolete with these vendors gone or the products offered no longer available.

Been a fantastic and very quick (more ways than one) decade, for us Turbo Regal fans

From the wayback site....

"Not in Archive. No archived versions of the page you requested are available. If the page is still available on the Internet, we will begin archiving it during our next crawl."

So, the pages may still exist....but I REALLY doubt it. So much lost......*sigh*

Yeah, I was around but didn't join the board until '02. Bruce was an awesome intellect. His responses to questions were thought provoking and indeed technical. He also was an mental giant. I remember some of his sparing work-outs dealing with politics and some people on this board who I will not mention.
RIP my friend.

i was also here. you can tell us old timers but the join date. May 2001 is when TB.com came back online

as for the board im almost postive everything was lost.

Yep, the join date on May 2001 is the dead give away on the guys who were around from before the boards crash. Im thinking early '98 was my join year also.

For us new guys, this turbo buick thing has been relatively easy. Lots has passed in the last 24 years...
