Bob is the man.. he is about to paint a couple of things for me..
Is that a hint that you bought another one?![]()
Turboelky,If I make miniumn wage working on some of the problems that are caused by the experts out there I feel fortunate. I just got done spending almost three weeks on a car bought off e-bay.The owner worked on it for two years before he decided to give up & bring it to me. If I hadn't hung in there & helped him his car would of been worthless.Cause no one else would of spent the time it took to fix it. Ask Brent on how rich I get working on Buick's he hung around for some time & seen what it takes. Another misconception & If can find someone to help me fix my 15 year old web site is that I'm a vendor. It seems that if I try and make any profit on parts anymore I'm a thief. I'm now primarily a general repair shop & guidance counselor for people who think I'm too expensive.I'm not some back yard hack & I have dedicated my life to this trade. Since 1962 to be exact. Show me anyone else here with the same tenacity.I'm not taking your comment personal but Count your blessings that I'm still around if you should need me.
I can personally vouch that Lou has saved me a lot of bacon.
Every time I've gone to him for service or guidance (it happens more than I post), I've come away WAY ahead of where I would have been and have found his rates and prices to be on the low side rather than the high side.
He's also been honest in telling me what I do or don't need and flushing silly and wasteful ideas out of my noggin'
I wan't name any names, but early on I talked to other supporting and non supporting vendors about what I should do with my GN and always come away feeling like I'm getting a sales job.
Not with Lou.
So any time I need work done that is over my head, Lou is the man!
Anything he tells me to do to make my GN a strong and reliable street sweeper. I'm all ears.
If I do something stupid and he tells me I'm stupid and to shut up....then I'm shuttin' up stupid.
Besides....for a grouchy old Polock....he's been nothing but a ray of sunshine in my life.
He must know I'm writing about him...he just tried to call me...almost dropped my Blackberry into the toilet.
why are you always on the toilet? is it meanchicken, or
meanshi##n' ?![]()
I know your a stand up guy & Harold/Kevin started this over priced Lou bull sh#t long ago. I don't want to waste any more energy on him or bore everyone. Thanks for letting me use your post to make this point. If your interested in that V/8 call me & I will see to it you get a fair deal. The owner of it Bob just wants it gone & is willing to take a loss. When I had that engine in my street Regal years ago it made insane H.P. & never broke. It was only after Bob bought the car back half ed it & boosted it to 30# did I start to see any signs of fatigue. But thats all been taken care of in this last rebuild.I think you took that post the wrong way. I know you are not overpriced, that was just something some dip made up. What I ment was, if I was going to have any work done by somebody other than me, it would be somebody with the experience such as yourself. The reason I stay working on my own car, is because I cannot afford an expert to do it for me. Plus, I enjoy cussing, busting knuckles, straining my back, getting filthy, sniffing paint fumes, inhaling particles of everything, cracked/dry hands, oil in my hair, and getting kicked out of my house...
I hope that clears it up, Lou. Wish I had the cash for that v-8 your selling. I'm about done with these v6 engines, and cannot see my self spending 10k on a long block unless it was a stage engine. I see v-8's in my dreams![]()

I hope you shop at costco for your poop paper!![]()
is'nt this post about bumper fillers?![]()
Yeah, they'll "crap" out sooner than you think!!!
I wish I could call you about that engine. I can barely afford to keep my car rolling right now. I'm scraping up cash for a hotair long block I'm about to throw in it, just to get it running again. As far as we know, its been rebuilt, but we'll find out soon. On the bright side, every single peice of the engine besides the block, was powdercoated, I got to spray single stage gloss black in the engine compartment and inner fenders, and ripped the frame down to bare frame rails from firewall foreward, painted the frame, and Re-did all bushings and steering components with moog crap, Should be back on the road soon. wish me luck![]()
Daaaaaaaaaamn is all this on your elky? I still gotta shake you down for those bumper shocks!![]()
