Greed is the american way of motivation, what can I do to make a buck
Everything is going down, except for the riches of rich... This is the time to buy, if you think you can get a deal, then swoop in and steal it away and try to flip it for more money then you paid... The american way is to spend everything you have and use credit and equity. But it finally caught up. Now it is foreign countries helping out the needy US. The government was going to offer $800 rebate, $1600 for families under $150k, then it was reduced to $600, now it seems it is $600 per famliy, ummmm, sound familiar, try to save and try to payoff bills and something changes. We count on $1.00 and we get .25 cents, and then spend .50 cents for food and bills. The logic and mental attitude has to change. People must get out and vote for change and keep bad ideas from getting into goverment where they make money just for them, ummm, any ideas what I mean.
Greed is the american motivation, what can we do to make a buck. The comment or question should be what can we do to fix the problems and stop it. As children we are taught that we can make a difference, as an adult we learn to go to work, pay taxes and get by. Our economy is suffering becuz our military people are overseas fighting vs in our own country spending. I saw in the news where a woman was awarded over a million dollars for losing her arm, not her life and our troops lose their life and their family is given what $50k or $100k, our justice system is corrupt as the government. Maybe money should be disbursed by the government , that way nobody really gets any money and if they do, it is not what they deserve. A million dollars and one arm gone, vs a son, brother or father gone, died from a war, children with no parent!
Back to why cars are so cheap, confusing, Ummmm, for instance, the 87 Buick grill used to be sold for $89 from GM not many years ago (less than 10 years) and now that same grill sells for over $600, why becuz people are willing to ask and people are willing to pay. Why is it ritz crackers in Wisconsin cost $2.00 at the store and in California it costs $4.00, the same freekin crackers.
Why do people drink -- to forget just for a moment, that life can suck when you don't have money. Live below your means and not above it. Maybe we all are waiting for inheritance money, becuz that is the old fashion way of getting rich. Even if you can afford a nice home, you may never be able to sell it. Not the issue with GNX's, but with a home, they are every where and the builders are every where ready to build another. So why buy an existing new home when you can have the one you want, on the land you want.
I can't wait for summer and cruisng in the GN, I have kept my garage queen parked for too long. It is too hard to drive a GN in the wineter of Wisconsin, especially, when this is the most snow we have had since 1999. I am going back to the 80's for 2008. Take the t-tops out and enjoy life a little slower and a lot more, Be on the look out for 87 GN with WI license plates "XSTASY".
GN's are expensive to drive and maintain, but a Buick is owned by people with money or have a priority in life to own one and drive it. If you don't drive it, maybe it is broke or it is like a GNX and worth more not to drive it. The funny thing is people struggle with money yet they own more than 2 cars. Kinda like being over weight, it is easier to talk then actually working at it to lose it.
For me, I am getting divorced March 3, 2008 and I don't have to sell my GN and I don't have to sell my house, sweeeet.... And my wife isn't asking me to sell everything I own to split with her. She was a keeper and still is becuz of that, but life changed and we get along better since we don't live together. Can't we all just get along and make life easier one day at a time. My GN needs work just to maintain original stock parts but becuz I own only one, it is simple to put money into it as needed. If your racing GN's and T's, well, racing parts break all the time...
Summer is ALMOST here and the GS Nationals are coming quickly, save your money and meet me there in 2008. You will see me trackside with my camera and pink hat.... May 13 - 17, 2008 -- 28 years, if this isn't the year, what will happen when Richard Lassiter owner of GSCA Retires.... then.... Insurance and deposits must be expensive in 2008, but all we see is membership numbers multiplied by yearly dues, so what, start your own club if it is that easy.... 28 years of history makes it that easy for the GSCA and all the volunteers and people who attend. It isn't about the money, it is about the memories... I have owned my GN since January 1988, 20 years flying down the road in a turbo regal, whooooosh and it's gone, whats a few thousand dollars in the end, who knows how much money I spent on insurance, drinking alcohol since 16 years old (legal age for me was 18 and senior in HS), going to grocery store for food, vacations to someplace warm when it is minus 20 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
It isn't luck we need, it is hope. I hope I live to meet you tomorrow and then next day and the next day.
