WHY does AOL suck SO bad?? *rant ahead*

You know, all this time... I thought it was my computer. Now I know it is this stupid AOHell !

If I use IE, I can do in 12 seconds what it takes me almost 3 MINUTES to do in AOL! I always thought it was because of the celeron processor and 256 DDR RAM... wrong!

I pay like 18 bucks or somewhere close to that since I have a cable ISP - the only reason I do not drop it is because it provides the firewall, virus protection and because of my established emails. the virus protection and firewall are worth the subscription price, but if I had dial up again... NO WAY!

AOL tech support can't do anything about it...

So, I ask you: does anyone know WHY?

yeah, I just really found this out. I just never used IE before... Now I hate even opening AOL to check the mail it is so slow!

Just wait until you try to stop your AOL service. It's like leaving the mafia, only worse.

Yeah, I have heard that before. The only reason I do not drop them is the virus/firewall that I would have to pay through McAfee any way... and the email thing.

Even the virus protection isn't what it's cracked up to be: just upgraded to broadband 9.0 super deluxe and BAM! caught a virus that's locked my whole home terminal down with some wierd-arsed program called "xxx files"

But really, that sucks you got one.

*knocking on wood* I have never had a virus yet.

I did however have a TON of spyware on my comp. when I cleared it out - It actually crashed when I deleted them. I guess that some of them were attached to some files that should not have been deleted. I had to mess with it for 3 days to get it to come back up... (somebody that knew what they were doing could probably have fixed it in an hour or so )

I don't expect it to be failsafe, but it is the same thing I would be paying for if I did not get it through AOHell.

AVG anti virus is fast, updated constantly, and free.

you can get it at http://www.grisoft.com - it's the 'personal edition' or something similar.
