Been pondering why it is a tough to sell Buick stuff on the TB board. ??

My conclusion: Seems everyone is non trusting of each other & a few bad apples ruined it for others.
Just the sheer fact seems everyone expects warrenties, 1 million photos, personal delivery, etc, etc

I have had very good success both buying and selling on this board. But there are alot of picture collectors. wanting you to post pictures and after you post they do a disappearing act. All in all I think it is thee best board to buy and sell on.

Part of..Or most of the reason,Is because this is the Biggest collection of CheapAzzzes you will find on any Board anywhere on the Net.

Not to say that they aren't great people...Just cheap!

AMEN to that, I offered to produce carbon fiber parts for our cars and everyone was interested "depending on price". Not the demographic I'm after. I moved on to other cars, and making a couple custom pieces for my car.

lol

Look at what our vendors have to put up with

I've had pretty good luck for the most part. When someone low balls and insults you with some bs offer you ignore it and someone else offers a fair price you go with them. This is not a flea market auction.

I agree.

as far as lack of trust:

Go to feedback section and play catchup on Warren Moore (westside 500) and his other 3 names that swindled hard working people out of thousands, got banned then he changed his name to MarvinsGN swindled more folks with his 3.5 inch DP that didnt exist, got banned and now a few months back changed his name again and took a guy for 700.00

Figure hes up to about 10k in scams

Educated buyers! Cheap fuks to but educated.

I guess.... I have a decent rear bumper for a tt or plain jane regal. It has some topside pitting but bottom looks decent & it is straight.
Would be good for driver or canidate for rechrome... I don't dare post it here. I have had better succsess on EB

IMO #1 reason is people just don't have the money to blow like they use to.

It was not long ago that you could sell a Buick item here in minutes. Now, unless you are willing to sell your stuff for $.25 on a dollar, stuff doesn't move.

The real sad thing about it all is that the cars themselves are not selling either. Again, you have to be willing to take a big hit to get anyone to jump.

Blame it on the economy, loose of jobs over the last couple years and the jamoks running our country.

that's it right there ^^^^^^^^^^^

A few things come to mind on the buying/selling here...

1. It depends on what you're selling and how bad someone needs it. I just recently listed a Turbo Tweak chip that I thought would have sold rather quickly...but then I did a search on those wanting a used TT chip...most of them wanted one that was set up for 42 lb injectors, a few wanted one for 60 lb injectors and a few wanted one for stockers. My chip was done up for 36 lb injectors, so I guess basically my chip wasn't much good to the masses....guess them blue tops are as outdated as a points ignition.

2. Cheapskates. I've had my powermaster parts for sale here for quite a while for less than you could get them new and they are new...I've had a few lowball offers that I turned down.

3. Economic recession. Although I still see parts trading hands, the cars aren't selling like they used to. Wished I would have known it was about to happen I would have waited to buy my car.

As far as pics, I usually post pics in everything I sell, it seems listing pics usually helps the item sell better.

All CheapAzzzes raise your hands (my hand is raised)
Normally I am not cheap I want something I buy it.
But with the way things are going I have to think worst case scenario.
And that has made me look for deals (cents on the $dollar)
And I am sure I am not alone in this.

When I come across parts that I want BUT they don’t list a price I just skip them and don’t even bother to offer. I have had things for sale and I have gotten lowball offers I simply decline and move on, it’s not personal its just business.

Too many kids on the board with ZERO respect for anyone.........this board is in a decline because of it.......sad but true.

Here's my take on selling parts on this site. I'm sure there has been a drop in people's parts sales due to the economy, that's to be expected. And with as many people loosing there jobs and all it does take it's toll down the line with Everything..

I feel thet Everyone who sells a part here should just go ahead and post pictures right from the start or wait to post untill you can. It leaves out the picture collectors right from the start Plus it does let EVERYONE see the product that is for sale!

The last thing I sold was a set of leather limited seats for $500 in just a few days. I even drove 180 mi one way to deliver them to the guy. He even brought me a rear set that I needed for paterns.. There is still very nice people out there and this guy was one of them. Made for an enjoyable drive up to Lexington,KY.

NOTE: The ONE thing I don't agree with when selling parts is the fact that some will let you know via PM and some let you know by posting in the thread! This gets confusing fast and by god you better do the right thing or you will be thrown under the bus quickly.. There shouldn't be PM's on purchasing parts!! this would keep Everyone on an even playing field..

Advise:

1) Post pictures at time of listing parts!
2) Price the parts fairly with an Amount listed!
3) Respond to posts in a timely manner!
4) Have the box and shipping method already layed out for the sale when it sells.

And you should have pretty good luck selling stuff..

Just my view.

I agree with this 100%...There should be no reason to need to pm someone about a part,Why not post in the Thread the part is for sale in.

I have been contacted via pm by more than once while selling parts, offering a bit more to swipe the part out from under someone that was 1st in line.Or thinking because they are local and could pick it up,That its a easier transaction and they should get the part. There are definitely some snakes on this board,Who dont want to have anything to do with waiting there turn for a part if they werent first to respond.

The other reason for the pm in the for sale threads....The Cheap asses are too embarrassed to make there stupid lowball bids in front of the Buick community,so they choose to go the Pm route.

I wish it were possible to disable the pm function totally...I really dont see the need to have to PRIVATE Message someone.

Just my take.

Just my take.

OR they go that route so they can purchase said part incognito for 50 bucks then a month later they post it for 100...ive seen that first hand....theres a couple of part hoarders on here, you'd think they own a fleet.

Like Scott said...if your selling a dang bolt...post pic of dang bolt cause if you dont, someone will want a pic of that dang bolt

One of my problems is that I scan the thread titles looking for parts so I don't have to read Every thread. When I see "Parts for sale" I usually skim over it

I think the biggest problem on the board are the guys trying to make their own market by asking 4 times a parts normal selling price. Then the next guy searches to see what his part usually goes for and sees this said part, normally sells for $75, being sold for $250. SO he asks $175 for his. Then the price of parts gradually gets higher and higher and newer members buy them. The older members know what these parts are really worth and wont spend the $175.....$200......$250. They want it for $75. I agree.

Too many people on this board are here to make money, flip parts, etc. They really dont care about helping the next guy. When I first joined the board, people asked a fare price and the parts sold quick. Now people try to gouge others and wait until somebody bites.

When I sell parts, I try to sell them cheap so they get off of my shelf. i buy enough parts that i hope someone helps me out in the future as well. It really only happens once in a blue moon but there are good members on here still.

I ship the same night or the next day after someone sends money. Who wants to wait 3-4 weeks to get something they havee already paid for? Nobody. It's common courtesy to ship fast to the buyer.

I agree, there are a couple guys on here that need to start paying vendor fees. Sometimes I wonder if they even own a Buick anymore.
