I had my dailey driver sitting outside and it rained today. The driverside floor board is soaked. It's a hard top car and I haven't driven it today. It has new door seals. I can't figure out why it's only wet dead center of the floor and nowhere else. This is a rust free car. Zero rust inside or out.

That's the only thing I can think of too. It's not wet up around the brake petal. Dead center of the floor. I'm thinking it must have found a groove the run down. Got to love these Gbody designs. I feel like I inspect for rust on a weekly basis.:D

Riff Raff where are the seals? Are they under the cover?
Black,
I had a windshield leak that would drop water in my lap during a hard rain. The gasket around the windshield had gone away. I had to replace
the windshield to fix it. Good luck.

check any wires or vac lines that were added where they go through the firewall , seal them up

check the drain on the AC box.. mine was plugged up, which made the water find the next easiest path out, which just happened to be to the inside of the car.. mine soaked the trans tunnel and the ecm when it rained even a little bit. i can stick a garden hose down the cowl with the drain cleared out.

I know some one that had a leak on the driver corner of the windshield it followed the a pillar trim down to the floor and soaked the carpet

Mike.....that's too funny. Paul. Got two in the garage. No more room. Guess I'm going to have to to alot of looking. I can't have wet interior. I hate rust.

I have probably had more of these g bodies apart than all of you guys and here is what I have been finding. I cut the back window out of several cars lately and the glue / seal is no longer sealing and water is just getting by it. Remember these cars are now over 25 years old and really weren't designed to last forever. I don't bother cutting windshields out due to breaking almost all of them but these suffer from the same issue. Side windows in the quarters are almost always fine and usually don't suffer like the front and rear windows.

As far as your rug being wet goes here's another story for you! When I first moved into my new garage and had lots of extra space I bought a hardtop regal about this time of year and the floor was obviously wet from snow on people's shoes etc.... Well I picked parts off of it for 18 months and then it finally had to go because I needed the room. The car never ever went outside agin in those 18 months and my garage has absolutely no chance of water getting in there . Well when I yanked the carpet out the August of 1 1/2 years later it was still damp. Think about that 1!!!!! True story no B.S.

I have nothing to gain here by lieing about what I'm telling you . I'm not saying this is your problem but it is something for everyone to think about because most of the time these cars rot from the inside out.

I have had about 30 t top cars and almost every t top car I have stripped the roof was rotted.

I believe that story. The carpet and padding is just asking to soak up and hold water. You are so right. These cars are rusting from the inside out. Sucks!!
