I have heard good and bad things about these. Can anyone tell me why they aren't good for buicks.I know mustang guys using them and have amazing results. Thanks Tony

Were the Mustangs that had good results running Buick engines? If not, there's your answer. What works well in one engine is NOT the greatest thing for another engine. The waste spark ignition used in the turbo Buicks has its own special requirements, and those don't match up with a Ford, or a Chevy, or a Honda. Lots and lots and lots of miles on the Buicks, proving that AC, Autolite, and NGK plugs work, and no need to try something odd, just because it works on somebody's lawnmower.

(Note that there are a number of Mustangs with turbo Buick engines in them, running AC, Autolite, NKG..)

If you had to choose between the AC and NGK, which would you pick? Given that it is a fairly stock motor with a few bolt ons.

No the mustangs were not running buick engines and that doesnt answer my question. They were running boosted applications. The plugs were very resistent to not blowing out under high boost and do not foul .So thats why I asked the question.I've heard people say that they didnt work on buicks and I wondered why.So go mow your lawn with that mower.

I had them in my TTA when I bought it. (bone stock car) I took them out and put AC delco plugs in there and it ran more smooth. Seems AC delco is the plug these cars like to have in them. For the price I change mine every year and I don't race my cars.

A local guy from around here who has a mid 10 second car runs denso's........Il give him a call and find out some more info about how he is using them and how they worked out for him  mybe I can even convince him to buy a computer to get online with

I'm sorry, I didn't make my answer simple enough for you. My point, which apparently sailed over your head, is that different engines respond differently to different spark plugs, blown or unblown. If you read all the post, you may have noticed the sentence about the waste spark ignition. That ignition works well with the AC plugs, and with Autolites, and with NGKs, as long as you don't go for platinum/irridium/etc. With the plugs that are "tried and true", Buicks will run very, very fast, and the plugs don't present any problems. So, it may be that another plug will work just as well, but why find out the hard way? It is KNOWN that the plugs mentioned will work, so no experiments are needed to find others. The best you can do is find that another plug works just as well, and it's likely that it won't, so why try?

Or you can be like my buddy after making a fast past in his LSC with a mustang engine . Other guy : Damn that went fast you got nitrous . My buddy: nope splitfires and mobile 1 . Other guy : I gotta get me some of those splitfires !

First off ,Your answer didnt sail over my head. You just stated the obvious.I know it has a waste sprk system.I justed wondered why it didnt work with our cars.I know the tip is small and might hinder the other 3 spark plugs. The reason I put this question out there is I'm having a plug fouling problem at idle and I know some racers that have the Denso's in there car for years nowand never fouled a one.I'm not looking for gimmicks, I just wanted to see if its worth trying to help with my problem. So if you want to continue being an ass go ahead.I do appreciate the help the other members are giving.

yeah i thought it was a good question too. Usually people on here are nice and try to answer, is what makes this site great. Must have been a rough day.
