VERY true and too close to home!
"We" created a high level coorporate position in an effort to reduce spending called;
"Director of Indirect Spend". Go figure. :rolleyes:

A Japanese company and an American company decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River.
Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race. On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the
crushing defeat.

A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing.

So American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion. They advised that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing.

To prevent another loss to the Japanese, the American rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager.

They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the "Rowing Team Quality First Program," with meetings, dinners and free pens for
the rower.

There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses.

The next year the Japanese won by two miles.
Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower for poorperformance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment.

The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses andthe next year's racing team was out-sourced to India.

And that is the way it is in today's business world !

I have a GN and just bought a prius last year. Im 24 and the prius is for daily comute from Orange to Long Beach 5 times a week. This thing feels like it will last until 300,000 EZ!!! My frist schedualed tune up is 120,000 miles ROFL! First purchase on the car was Mich. HydroEdge tires with 90,000mile prorated warenty ;) And I bought those @ 10,000 miles so that means Im not planning on replacing my tires until around 100,000 mile :cool: Pretty cool. Tires on the GN lasted o about a month front and rear, rear went fast cus Im modded, front went fast because Hotchkits makes my boat turn like a monster :wink:

Ive got 30k on the prius now, and have only done filter and oil. And with gas @ $2.50/gallon I can drive on 1 tank full for $25.50 and drive 500 miles no problem as long as you kept it under 80mph! Cars govener kicks in @ 115mph :D And on the frwy going 100mph I get anywhere between 25mpg and 45mpg depending on the angle of the road your on :biggrin: (ex:uphill and downhill). This car fits 5 people easly! Awsome sound system! Navigation! And this is the only car I have drivin with a Panaramic veiw, with EYE MOVEMENT reduced to almost nothing with the location of their gagues, this makes long drive INCREDIBLY EZ ON YOUR EYES!

I clearly see why toyota is #1 as of late. Im planning on tradding it in for the tundra hybrid when i garduate school in. Have a truck to tow the GN in haha. Very hard to explain having a GN and a Prius, but the girls at school like it and when I get them home and show them the GN they really like it.
