will a 350 trans hold up in these cars,
absolutely!! so far I have gone 148mph with mine. Jannis trans. in Akron & I are doing some r&d. we are hoping to be making some mid 8 sec. 160 mph passes when the temp. cools off.

Well i installed the 12yr old trans to see how it would do, it did well but i new it needed refreshing. Anyway the best tranny guy and i became good friends, and he offered to teach me how to build the 350TH. It is in the car, and he want it to hit harder, so he pulling it to change a few things, now i can build my own! Thats a friend. Anyway, the car was running 6,500rpm thru the trap, and that maybe due to the age of it, but if it does the same thing once i get it back, do i need to up the tire size? I had a set of 26x10 Hossier, do i need a taller tire, or will this kill the car(3.42gear).

Sounds like a converter problem. 600hp should net about 128-129mph in the quarter in a full weight TR. You should be able to get it done under 5700 rpm if the converter is good. My PTC held the engine to 5750@134mph with a 27.5" tire.
