Just ordered a 3" gn1 dp with external wg , just uncovered turbo cover and noticed this style turbine housing.
Will the new dp fit?Can i just cover the wg hole on the housing?If not, can i replace, just the exaust housing?

You will need a block off for the wastegate provision on the exhaust housing. I doubt you will see any gain going from the 2.5" to the 3".

i got a dump pipe and a good deal on the package from a fellow member.figured when this turbo goes ill be ready for future one.can i order a blockoff or fab one at local muff shop?

I'm a little confused. You currently have an external wastegate, and the new downpipe you ordered is with an external wastegate. It should bolt up just like your current downpipe, shouldn't it ??

i believe the new wastegate is part of the downpipe,the wg on my setup is part of the housing ,check out pic.

Just looked at the GN1 site. They are different. I'm used to the old school, like you have now. You should be able to block off the turbo housing. I have an older Cheetah turbo that is blocked off, with a TH downpipe. I've seen turbo suppliers that have the block off plates. I'm sure one of the Buick vendors could get you one.
