Will stripping the intercooler fins of paint improve cooling efficiency?

I just recently picked up a Dutt neck I/C and I'm getting ready to install it.

The I/C I believe has been repainted at some point, I'm not sure if all of it or just some of it....but I'm wondering before I install it, if it would cool the compressed air off the turbo more efficiently if i were to strip the paint off of the cooling fin area?

I know one thing, it is a pain in the butt to clean all that paint out of there.

My cousin who is an engineer told me one time that it is not a measurable amount of heat transfer.

Not sure maybe someone who has real world results will chime in.

You have alky inj. I wouldnt waste my time on stripping paint.

Ok thanks, just thought maybe taking some of the paint off the fin/tubes would help.

I'll just install as is.
