You guys are too much fun.

Every place in the country where gay marriage has come to vote, it has lost. California is about as left wing as anywhere, vote there was about 2 to 1 against, to include every major city except good old gay San Fran.

This view on gay marriage isn't just President Bush's view, it is America's view.

Let us just look back. The World Trade center was bombed and we caught OSAMA BIN LADEN then? Our embassies were bombed and we caught OSAMA BIN LADEN then? The USS COLE was bombed and we caught OSAMA BIN LADEN then? The rock solid plan by our President and Attorney General was to treat these as civil law violations. How many from the terrorist networks were brought in? Not many, sadly, not many at all. But we did burn out the nasty nest of religious zealots in Texas.

We let the most dangerous terrorist on the planet believe we were weak and afraid of him.

funny how ABCs poll of over a half million American's, 75 percent oppose an amendment against gay marriages, it doesn't matter, your view on gay marriage, its Bush and his religious right, who decide what YOU want, regardless of your opinion, POST FAST BEFORE YOU LOSE THAT RIGHT TOO!!

3000 PEOPLE DIE, FIRST THING GEORGE W. BUSH DOES IS GETS OSAMA BIN LADENS FAMILY OUT OF THE COUNTRY!!

Actually, the first thing he did was have the Taliban taken out in Afghanistan... something the Russians couldn't do in 20 years.

The next thing he did was have the Cole Bombers Killed and captured.

The his people discovered that North Korea had broken the promises they made to Clinton and had developed Nuclear weapons and Yoinked their funding and support.

Then he had the Terrorists in the Phillipines taken out. You know, the ones that had planned to Hijack 10 Jumbo Jets.

Then he help capture the Bali Bombers.

Then He took out Saddam.

Then Libya gave up its weapons of Mass Destruction.

Then Saudi arabia finally started killing it's own terrorists.

Plus hundreds of other things we don't know about, yet.

Besides, Osama's Family had nothing to do with 9/11 (less than Iraq did). He had been disowned for years.

"Then He took out Saddam."

IM TALKING HOURS, NOT YEARS.....

GAS PRICES

You guys hit so many things I have to split them up.

You better enjoy the prices you have right now, because they may never get much better again.

How many new nuclear plants in the last 20 years? How many refineries have we built in the last 20 years? Many have been dismantled. How many coal mines have we closed and how much low sulfer coal for power plants did President Clinton put into federal monuments? How are we going to make electricity? We are burning increasing amounts of oil and natural gas.

Our economy runs on home and car sales. Those houses all run on electricity, oil, and natural gas.

Lots of natural gas is used to refine crude oil to other products. Each time natural gas gets short, prices at the pump go up.

The Democrats keep pounding away at "Big Oil" when the truth is all our energy sources are interdependent. When are they going to start in about my heating bill or the electric bill from my city public utilities?

Here is the real wake-up call. In the 1990s China was an energy exporter. They are now an importer. In about five years they will be second to only America in the importation of oil. The world's production of oil is fairly static. As China grows our own energy costs will continue to rise. Back to economics again. With a fixed resource, price is a function of market demand.

We can't go backwards on our needs for energy. So why have the Democrats been blocking every area?

So what? We deported and detained a sh*t load of arabs on visa's in the hours after 9/11.

Where were you? Screaming their "rights were being taken away"?

You can't have it both ways.

Never said anything about their rights being taken away, stay out of the gas fumes.....

more importantly, Bush was concerned with his (Osama's) family's rights than ours now!

How many have died for this?

Lives have value. It does not matter if you live in America and freedom or Afghanistan under the terrorists or Iraq under a despot. Giving those people their freedom had a cost on both sides. Estimates from the UN are about 6,000 in Afghanistan and about 12,000 in Iraq. These are totals from both sides.

How many would have died if we stayed at home with our heads in our hands? If you just use the numbers from the rate those peoples were dying before we came, what would you say? Ten times as many dead? How many now in hospitals getting care, in schools, now able to worship again? Or just able to talk to a neighbor and not worry about being killed for what they talk about?

And what is the value of terrorist killed and in jail? What is the value of an undergroung nuclear network shut down? How can we even estimate the lives saved there?

We are free because we are strong.

Rights taken away?

And just where and when?

I believe you can go to the site for the ACLU right now and ask them how many citizen's rights have been abused under the Patriot Act and the answer will be.................ZERO.

If they don't have anyone one whose rights have been abused, then they must not have heard from you. And you lost what rights?

Second, the Patriot Act was passed with a majority of Republican and Democrat votes in both the Senate and the House. So now President and John Ashcroft are evil because of it? That makes sense how??

He was concerned with their rights so he had them deported?

There's some twisted logic.

Again, Bush isn't taking ANY of your "rights" away.

Please name one.

The Democrat's problems with the "Patriot Act" is that we were detaining and deporting non citizen Arabs.

Do you have a problem with this?

After 9/11 any party in office would have gone to war.
No argument there.
But I believe in individual rights, which are not part of the Bush agenda.

His religious supporters, which are making his decisions for him are the ones;

running the drive against gay marriage, doesn't matter your views on religion & gays, they are purposing a constitution amendment against it, even though the American public oppose an amendment.

driving through legislation which would let the FCC impose fines against broadcasters for aledged 'indescencies' even though they provide no true guidelines for what they deem indecent, and companies who wish to fight the FCC in court, find themselves put out of buisness by the FCC postponing their license renewal and forcing them out of buisness.

the republican party, until placed under pressure by the public, almost let the ban on assult weapons lapse, which would of put automatic weapons back in the hands of criminals.

the so called 'patriot act' which allows the government to spy on the American public without having to answer to anyone for its actions.

Is this the kind of government you want? A governing body who decides what you read, watch, and listen too? A government who makes law and policy regardless of public wishes? A government who is run by a religious body who decides what is right for you?
This government is run by a president who has publicly stated he 'talks to God'. Under Bush, your rights are subject to the scrutiny of him and his decision makers. Is that what you want?

OH NO! The polls say gay marriage is OK!

It is a funny thing how polls are a reflection of the questions asked and the manner in which they are asked.

But what is happening in real life, not question and answer land, is real people are voting NO. Here is real danger for the gay side of the issue. They are pushing the issue right now and if it goes out to the states now, there is a good chance they will lose in enough states to have a ban become law. If that were to happen, no judge and no court could overturn it. Gay marriage could become a closed issue.

Yeah, funny, the people are asked if they opposed a constitutional amendment and over a half million polled, they say yes they would, yet Bush pushes forward.
Why, because his religious backers, who deem what WE should do, say so. There will be no vote, Bush and his cronies will decide, what we need, WHATS NEXT?

Criminals with Automatic Weapons!

"the republican party, until placed under pressure by the public, almost let the ban on assult weapons lapse, which would of put automatic weapons back in the hands of criminals."

Automatic weapons are restricted items sold only to licensed owners. It is the law and has been for years. That has nothing to do with assault weapons. The type of weapons covered under the ban are used in less than 1% of the crimes where weapons are used. And I don't remember seeing a statistic where it was actually reduced during the time of the ban.

So this is relative to what real world issue?

It is window dressing.

You have to know your constitution

"There will be no vote, Bush and his cronies will decide, what we need, WHATS NEXT?"

For an amendment to become law it can only be done by a vote of the people.

Are you old enough to remember the ERA, Equal Rights Amendment for women? It did not make it. The polls all said it would pass easily.

The FCC is now deciding what is appropriate, and what is not, their fine to broadcasters and individuals has increased 1000%, and their is no due process, companies who wish to fight, find their licenses run out by the governing body who is fining them. They also can fine individuals now, so soon, if they don't like what you say, oh, such as speaking your mind about the government, you might find yourself fined. Does this sound like people having a say, or a 'vote' ? Speak up while you can, it's amazing, people on this board, who are so into speaking their mind, are ready to throw that right away by backing Bush.

Damn, Smoking 6, you are Drinking the Democrat Koolaid.

Assault weapons ban didn't ban any "automatic weapons". Bush DIDN'T repeal it. Does he get any credit from the koolaid drinkers like yourself? I didn't think so.

If the American people oppose a "gay marriage ban" I guess they won't vote for it. Do you want the American people to vote for or against it? Or are you against Democracy? Have another swig of that Koolaid.

Bush isn't "driving through" any legislation concerning the FCC. His FCC is getting beat up for enforcing existing rules and being theatened with legislation to impose additional rules. Congress is the one's driving. MANY of those congressmen are drinking the same Koolaid you are.

If you have problems with deporting and detaining suspicious non citizens and traitors to the country, you really need to think about where you are going to work and live after the next couple 9/11's.

And it seems the rent of these congressmen who are passing laws is being paid by the same religious zealots that Bush is listening too.
