Will you have to readjust boost after chip change or changing to vacuum brakes?

Let me explain..

I've been running 24 lbs of boost & today I changed over to a vacuum brake system & went from 009's to msd 50's, so I changed to a 50 lb. chip.
Well after a quick test run, my boost only would go to 20 lbs.Just wondering where my other 4 lbs. of boost went? Coulds it be chip related or brake related?

From what i've learned in my short time with these awesome cars, any time you make a significant change, such as chip or injectors, you have to start all over with the fuel and boost settings. JMHO. :D

Some chips are programmed for different wastegate duty cycles. This is problably the most common reason for the boost level to be different. No biggie, just reset it to what ya want and re-tune it. :)

If you are running computer controlled boost (i.e. thru the Wg solenoid) you will get slight boost changes between chips. When I go to my RA from the Thrasher I lose 2psi

I believe that's probably what it is. I took it out for another spin just to check it again & got the same reading (20lbs), felt like it was running rich, so turned down the alchy a little & the car felt very strong!!!! It's a Jay Carter chip, so I know it's gonna be great ,I just gotta crank the boost back up a little & turn up the alchy & enjoy the ride !!!
