I just did mine tonight after work. They are called "Window scrapers". Took about 45 minutes each. The first door, I removed the upper and lower halves of the door panels, then realized that removing the bottom one was not necessary. The second door, I removed only the top half of the door panel and it was just fine. Just be careful when sliding the top half of the panel into the upper slot on the bottom half panel.
I found my Door Pad Broadcast sheet on tucked in the bottom half on the drivers side door too. I was happy to see that it was there, intact, and matched my VIN #.
It's not that hard to do. I didn't have to remove the window either.
Hey were is a good place to find Window scrapers I need them for a 1983 Hurst/Olds and I would also like to know were to get the t-top weather stripping as well. Thanks
I'm positive that he doesn't have any more of them and he really did me a big favor on the cost of those. He just happened to have a set by chance.
Other than that, post a WTB (Wanted To Buy) thread with your parts request. I've had GREAT luck here with that and the folks here are ususally selling their parts at a very reasonable rate.
If you're desperate (meaning that nobody here has them), E-bay is a good source for the T-top seals. They'll cost you $3xx+ though at either venue, I believe. Expensive stuff. I got my window scrapers (OEM, BRAND NEW) for $1xx, shipping included. Well worth the money, that's for sure! I think E-bay is listing the same thing for $115 for each side + shipping.
I'm not bashing e-bay at all - that's where I bought my GN from and I love it! I'm just saying that the folks here in this forum are very resourceful and someone might know of a better deal on the parts that you require. The Olds and Regal T-tops are identical so I guess it's up to you as to where you shop.
