Wiring help

Posted this in the wrong section, so here goes again,Can anyone tell me what this plug and what looks like a relay is??? Upon wiring in my new gauges, I found a rats nest of wires that were going to nowhere, some of them "hot" with bare ends. The small orange wire is spliced to a wire running into the passenger compartment that is not hooked to anything. Should it be hooked up to something??

That's not factory. Someone added that in. Trace the big Red wires. 1 prolly goes right to the battery. The other one goes to what ever it's running.

Thank you TurboBuRick, that is what I was thinking, as I could not find in the wiring diagrams or relay charts.
Just one more part of the "rats nest" to decipher!!!!!! Lol
