Does it matter which terminal the wires are attached to on the oil pressure sending unit?

Does it matter which terminal the wires are attached to on the oil pressure sending unit?

 Need more info. What kind of oil pressure sending unit? Are you talking about a stock switch or an aftermarket oil pressure gauge?

Everything factory. One terminal broke off, wondering if the unattached wire can buddy up with one of the other two.

Which one broke off? The center lug is for the oil pressure idiot light, the outer 2 are for the fuel pump relay bypass. A lot of guys don't even use the switch, they just leave it disconnected.

Yes it matters a lot.

The center pin B shorts to the case ground under 4psi. oil pressure to run the idiot light.

Pins A and C are the high current N/O switch that closes upon buildup of 4psi. oil pressure and provide an alternate high current path to the fuel pump.

Pin A is the pink/blk wire.

Pin B is the tan wire.

Pin C is the gray wire.

And and C can probably be reversed with no ill effects.
