I'm thinking about getting a TA49 to replace the stock unit I have so I wanted to see if there was any good used ones out here. So, whatcha have and how much do you want for it?

It must be in real good shape, I don't want to have it rebuilt and I will need pics.

Thnx!

You run the stocker pretty hard. That's nice to see. I was at your point a couple of years ago. I upgraded to my TE44, but I needed a stall to be satisfied with my TE44, and now that I have a stall, I'm thinking bigger turbo. Even with a stock engine, if you are good at running a good tune as you seem to be and are planning on getting a stall "eventually", get a bigger turbo now. 6262 and a solid 2800 stall seems to work nice but you'll need 30psi to see the difference. I'm selling my TE44 soon though if you want it. It makes 117mph power at 25psi on 91 pump and alky.

Yea, I've already been looking at a 2800 stall to match the TA49 but I may want a 3000 but I'd like to hear what others have experienced using the stock cam with this combo. There are too many variables in my head and no test car to help me make the decision on which converter to use. Is it better to flash a 3000 stall into boost to get a good 60' or is it better to powerbrake the hell out of it into boost like I do with the stock D5 then launch it with a lot of boost...? With my stock D5 converter I power brake it to 15psi before launching. I don't know if I would be able to do this with a TA49/2800 stall or not...

For a long time my goal was 11's with Stock Turbo/Cam/IC/Converter, but I just couldn't get the MPH to do it. Now I just want something that will produce a killer 60ft because I don't want to put a cage in it. Right now my goals are a lot different than others because right now the overall ET isn't that important to me anymore. I would prefer to have a 1.4 60' at high 11's than a 1.60 60' at mid/low 11's.

Your 111mph is enough for 11's though with a little better 60'.

My TE44 with my stall @ 2700 @ 0-1psi spools like my stocker. My brakes can't hold much but it 1.6x 60's with as little as 4psi launch. I think someone else mentioned it but I find it better to launch while the boost is building rather than focusing on having a lot of boost at launch. The 44 rips with a stall so I can't see why with a little more stall, you couldn't launch with 15psi even with the TA49 depending on your brakes. I use vacuum but I presume you are still using the powermaster?
