WTF???

I am trying to delete a TON of dupe pics, that have infected the my pictures location.
I tried to increase the control/pixel count to 20.. No luck. Now, I've got about 100 pic dupes of what started out as 10 originals.
All my good photos are in the recycle bin!!! I've restored all of them, back to my pics.
NE1 point me in the right direction, to clean up this mess????
Running XP.

I'd make a new folder, put the "keepers" in it, and delete everything from "My Pictures". Reboot and see if they stay gone, then copy the keepers back to My Pictures and see if they stay like they should. If so, delete the other folder...

Thanks, guys. I'm just finishing up d/l to a thumb stick, and reloading to my pics.. What a mess!
