Hey guys, this is a weird one. Ive got double pumpers-car came this way. I have been suspicious of my primary pump because, lately, the on rail fp gauge reads 0 after shutdown. And now the fp runs anytime the igntion is on. So I check the pass side relay group and pull each one and the fp stays on. And a frightening thing I also find-there is a MAP sensor which is connected by a real weatherpack 3 wire terminal. WTF Say what?!! Time to run the numbers on car maybe. I disc this MAP and have no diff drivability or SES. So here is 3 weird ones-(1) A fpump that stays on while key is on (didnt use too) (2) a GN with a MAP which is hookes up, (3) a "missing" primary f pump relay.
The car also came with a Viper security system that is fried-could it be hooked in with fpump or do they hook in with the injector power? Out of all this it is that (*^^^& **@ MAP that is really bothering me:mad:
Also would a lack of fuel pressure cause boost to drop?
Thanks

MAP sensor

The MAP sensor you have installed is more than likely for the boost sensing hardware for Turbo-link scan tool. If it's hooked up there should also be an extra connection at the TPS and the Mat sensor should be disconnected and also hooked up to this.

Thanks John,
The wires to the MAP were soldered into stock looking wires that go into the dark abyss to the left of the ac box. The tps wire insulation has been cut but no permanent connector is there. Your explanation would be the only one to make sense still.
Ive now traced the +12 to the fuel pump-it is fed by a brown wire which starts at the left side of the fuse box in a 7 wire bundle which makes its way to the trunk. .The wire is fused by the 15 amp fuel pump fuse. Stock for sure-it simply has +12 when the ignition is on. This isnt right  Why is the passenger side under hood relay not used.??????

Da, I finally quite mouth breathing long enough to realize that the oil press switch could be stuck on, even though the light reads correctly. And hey , the switch is "old" for an auto zone unit-about 4 months. So its probably reached its life span..:p
