XFi people, can I see pictures of where you installed the box?

I have the classic system and have mine installed under my passenger seat. Put the harness where the factory ECM went and then fished the wires under the carpet to the hole GM stabbed for non-existant passenger power seats.

My buddy (northerngn) is about to pick up an XFi unit on my recommendation and is undecided on where to put it. I have only seen the XFi unit out of a car, never installed. I think its bigger than the classic but thinner, if it fits under the seat I still say he should put it there but he (and I) are looking for other ideas.

Keep in mind this will be a street driven car that goes to the track, not a race car so mounting it on the dashboard is out of the question.

For starters, here is how my classic sits.

The laptop gets buckled in and sits nicely shotgun during races (my car sees a lot more track time).

Any pictures of XFi installed on street cars would be appreciated.

lol. here is a crap picture from my cell. just finished the install that night and sent a quick picture to my friends. its not stealth by any means but it still looks clean.

That doesnt look to bad right there. If I did that with my classic box I think it would stick out to much.

i agree. this is the place most people mount it. you can see the lights no problem and it doesnt get in the way. also its a nice red and goes well with the floor mats and i used chrome bolts to mount it. the reason i used the chrome bolts is to give it something extra. you can use velcro or whatever.

I forgot about the lights! I dont know what they do but I know the classic doesnt have them so I can tuck it away and not look at it. If the lights are important I am sure where you have it is a good spot.

lights are very important for quick dignostic. they show each injector power and a few other things.

lol. yup its part of the 6 point erine macdaniel bar. i love having the swing out removable as i dont run them on the street.

I has a classic fast on my old car, which was under the seat. Can the XFI be mounted under the seat? I've always seen them mounted on the kick panel.

YES IT CAN. you just need to get the long harness from caspers

het boost 231 several friends including me have cages 4,6,and 8 being the worst lol. anyway does the swing out at all take away the strength of the cage being it could go on and come off. i always thought in someway it does
