Well mine's white so I'm gonna guess its been replaced with a regulat Y . If the parts departemnt at the local GM dealer is open at all tomorrow (doubtfull), gonna go mess with em with this one.
I am never going to the local GM dealer again.............they have converted their parts department into a shrine of nascar hats, $15 matchbox cars, and $400 models of Dale Earnheart's engine. Not even a computer or microfilm viewer..........all that is somewhere way in the back out of view. I told the guy I needed a part for the vaccum system on an 84 buick grand national..........explained to him what it was..........which line it was on.........and he went on his way into the back. About 15 min later he comes back with a printout of a 2 barrel 3.8 engine telling me he can't find what I am asking for. I explain the engine is a 3.8 but it is a s.f.i. turbo engine...........to posibly look under regal/t-type..........back he goes again. Bout a half hour later he returns with a printout of a 86 turbo engine and says this is all they show............nothing else. I need to try another dealer
i have a buick and a chevy deler that i go to depending where i am at the time i need a part and they know what i want. most of the time it is discontinued though i will go to buick tommarow to find this y piece.
CALL BUBBY @ HOFFMAN CHEV BUICK IN HAGGERSTOWN MARYLAND HE 'LL GET YOU THE CORRECT NUMBER AND HE HAS ACCESS TO MANY NOS PARTS THAT ARE DISCONTINUED IF IT INDEED IS DISCONTINUED.
25518438 is what I show in my parts book for 84-85 Restrictor, and I think it may be a .050 ( fifty thousandths ) orffice.
I beleive I read somewhere that the 87's are more near a .040 orffice, and the the TTA is .035.
you CAN just drill the newer 25525576 out WITH A .050 bit or punch ream it through with a ROUND feeler gauge.
I use a DELTROL easy read needle valve for an ADJUSTABLE ORFFICE< it is only about twenty bucks from the valve store online ordering, has 1/8" npt female fittings, and GIVES YOU FINE TUNNING TWEEKING ability to adjust boost, JUST PLUMB it in between a regular unrestricted tee or Y from the pressure output fitting port on the turbo to the wastgate actuator and solenoid vent.
Talked to a few BUICK dealer's today....out of production.....was told on a parts search, no one locally, nationally, or inter-nationally has it. 100% unavailable
