I use a machine at work to scan and mill teeth that very similar to that. It's really quite amazing the precision of them. Remember the "replicator" on Star Trek? It's called rapid prototyping now. An item can be directly milled or a material that is castable can be formed then cast. Cool stuff.

this is just the first american company to copy the idea and go public,
but thats good! finally we can profit off their creations for a change. The
question is what effect will this have on the market for copying parts!
