right now the engine, trans, core support and header assy are off my grey 87 T

im fixing to paint the front frame rails, x member and upper control arms-

has anyone painted theirs gloss black instead of semi black?

would it just look to shiney or actually look good?

the car is going to have a front mount, so alot of the frame rails will be seen-

let me know what ya'll think

Why not paint it gray to match the car? I painted the Pontiac's frame in the GM stuff and it is 90% gloss. I think 100% gloss would look good if the frame were prepped a little and some detailing by removing factory welding slag.

yeah, powder coat would be what im aiming for the looks-

i was talking to a buddy of mine, and he said to try POR 15 gloss-
i guess you paint it on with a brush, and it takes a day to set up, and lays flat and actually looks like a paint job with no strokes-

john larkin- thanks for the tip, i spent a few hours grinding out the pigion poop and left overs from the factory-- looking alot better now-

i think i might use that por 15 stuff, i will let you guys know how it turns out-
