'86 Regal owner's manuals for sale

Set of three original manuals: the "general" owner's manual, warranty manual, and stereo system manual. All are in good condition with normal wear, slight fading and some "dog-ear" pages, but they are clean. The cover of the warranty manual has the original owner's name on it, but the other...

Furniture legs on wood floors - best protection?

Another good trick when you need to move a heavy piece of furniture for cleaning or whatever: Slip old towels underneath it and slide across the floor on the towels. Works great, no scratching!

GN wagon for sale in Calif.

Just thought I would post this here too, in case you don't catch it in the "for sale" forum... Well guys, after much careful thought, I've decided I must sell my car. I know some of you are familiar with it. It is an '83 Chevy Malibu wagon with a complete '86 GN drivetrain. The engine is...

    'Carfax' for car dealers?

Somewhere recently I read about a website where you can check the consumer satisfaction ratings of individual car dealerships. Maybe I read it here. Anyway, does anybody know what I'm talking about and where I can find such a thing?

    Fuel psi newbie question...

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Actually, I do know about the "premium only" advice since I also swapped in a TR dash. Anyway, I'll take all your advice into account. :)

    Fuel psi newbie question...

I recently installed an AFPR and trying to get comfortable tuning with it. What I'm wondering is, how does fuel pressure affect mpg? I'm assuming that as fuel pressure increases, mpg will drop because you're injecting more fuel per piston stroke, all else being equal. Is that right, or am I...

Are K&N style valve cover breathers CARB Exempt?

Seems to me the key works in that EO ruling are "self contained." What does that mean? Does it mean an open-element K&N breather, or does it mean a sealed device that traps and holds whatever comes out of that valve cover? Seems to me it's more likely to mean the latter. I have a hard time...

Top End Speed On The Street

Well, lowering the car and giving it a slight forward rake would be the place to start. Then it would be fairly easy to build a front air dam out of aluminum sheet. This is what a lot of guys do at top speed races like the Silver State Classic: just a strip of aluminum sheet riveted to the stock...

    Garage painting ideas

Those stencils are pretty cool, especially the flame one. But it looks like that could get expensive in a hurry if you have to buy that stuff by the foot or by the 15" piece. What I was thinking was making my own "checkered flag" template out of cardboard. Just cut some squares out of a...

Watching DVDs on a laptop - how powerful a machine?

A couple thoughts: Make sure the laptop is plugged into the wall and not just running off batteries. Most laptops run at lower speeds when drawing on batteries alone. Also, if this is possible on your machine, maybe you could assign more of the available memory to the DVD player software. I...

    Garage painting ideas

How about this: --Dark red bottom --Checkered flag middle strip --White or light grey top I'm redoing my garage soon, so this is on my mind too!

    Trans am GTA wheel identification

Actually, the GTA rears WILL fit on a G-body, you just have to swap them: rears on the front, fronts on the rear. You may get some rubbing in the front, but only at full lock. And you don't need longer studs either way (well, unless you use a spacer).
