car was running fine previously. Problem started with overboosting it and it pinged. Started by tearing top end apart and replacing head gaskets. Found originals still intact. Replaced anyway with RJC's bullet proofs. Removed oil pan and checked underneath. No signs of any damage or wear. No...
I'm really missing driving the car and back to trying to solve a problem hopefully saving a rebuild cost. Last year I overboosted it to 24psi on 93 oct for few seconds when I heard the telltale ping. Tore top end apart thinking headgaskets. Nope. They were fine. The car will run, but lacks...
I can tell ya exactly as I bought the same setup with the same problems. You need to make sure your TT chip is burned for a 70 mm TB. The larger inlet allows more air in for a given throttle position than the stock one. So if the ECM is programmed for stock size, it is expecting less air thru...
Definitely agree with a couple stuck open injectors. Try swapping them with 2 from passenger side and see if problem follows the injectors. If not, then double check all connections from injector backwards. May have gotten a small bur or something inside the larger connector under coil pack...
how soon after startup? It may just be picking up the vibrations from the starter turning the flywheel.
What circumstances around not building boost? While cruising? Power braking? In park?
I'll start with a little history. Some may remember some of my old posts over the last like 8 months. I overboosted it trying to get accustomed to the control and went further than I thought. Hit 24 psi on straight 93 octane for few seconds till I heard the preverbial ding ding. Thought I blew a...
has anyone come up with a solution yet for the difference in air flow with a 70mm throttle body since it flows more for a given tps value. Wide open throttle is no prob, but anywhere between that and idle it seems like computer confused and hesitates.
1 possibility is the fusible link blew. Another is I found a splice for the kill switch hidden inside the tubing that runs above the rear of engine that I pulled apart unknowingly. took all day to find it.
yes, all parts are reused. new one is just housing and throttleplate.
One downside is more air gets into the intake than the computer thinks cause the opening is larger than stock. Mine seems to studder a bit at certain throttle positions. Has anyone found a way to counter this or can the...
