Not a problem, sorry about that!
Can you PM me or e-mail me info about the costs involved in becoming a vendor? Be nice, I'm not one of the "big guys"!
Thanks!
Hi Jordan_J - yes, the 3M #80 holds up to the underhood temps. If you're running a larger or an unshielded turbo, headers that make a lot of heat, etc then I can't vouch for how the liner will hold up. It works best with stock applications.
Take a look at the images I have for my Jaguar...
<< they peel from the heat. several members have bought and used them and state they are junk. >>
I beg to differ.
If you don't install it as per the instructions then it won't perform as it should. You'll also have problems if you're running with an unshielded turbo, with headers that...
I'm the guy who does the hoodliners - the decals won't stick to the original liners. It's been tried before and they don't stay on.
Reminder - the hood MUST come off for correct installation using 3M #80 spray adhesive.
Car engineers around the world put them there for a reason - many car brands around the world use that same pressed fiberglass material that eventually fails. Primarily for heat and sound insulation. That whole "smother a fire" explanation is a MYTH.
Thanks supercrackerbox - I can definitely make a liner for your Charger.
usetaboost - They don't deflect heat, they absorb and dissipate it. It won't be reflected back towards your intake. My aircraft firewall material is made for the aerospace industry and works phenomenally well for cars...
Hi, that's me, I make them, and I'm a member here! I make them for the GNs too, plus many other cars.
You can see them all at my blog: http://hoodliners.blogspot.com
Thanks!
There was a lady across the street from me who had an original black 1987 GN, garage-kept, 58,000 miles on it and she sold it in August for $12,500. If I had the dough.....
I'm the guy who makes the liners, I can be reached at tbirddmnd@att.net
Chuck can let you know about the colorful decals, but I also can provide the same silver decals that come on the original.
I'm the guy who makes the liners and I have to say it looks great Chuck! Never figured that folks may want to attach my liners to a piece of board but if it works, go for it. I'm more than happy to help other owners in dressing up their engine bays!
