The great thing about guys and threads like these is now EVERY Z06, even those driven by guys that have never been to a track once in their life, can "run 10's", which in reality is as likely as all Fox body mustang GT's running 13.2's Bone stock, All LS1 Camaros running 12.7's Bone stock and all viper GTS's running 11.7's Bone stock.

Good point, but the fact is that is what the C6 Z06 is capable of out of the box, which is pretty amazing if you ask me.

Now modified Z's those cars are on a whole other level

How much power is needed to smoke a new z06? We were out at a local cruise nite last nite and a guy drives through the parking lot reving his engine in a brand new z06 with his girl of course, and the said those grand nationals only looked good parked. We had about six of them all parked side by side only most all of them were stock,want to go back this weekend and teach him a lesson but not sure what car to bring and how much power it needs to make to get the job done. Thanks

Hes going nowhere on those tires and the car appears to be stock. He dosent have the power even if he hooked it. Ill race him fro $2k. No less.

Enjoy reading this thread, he seems to be the bone stock Z06 guru. The air, temperature and traction must have been excellent.

I g-teched quicker on the street with no burnout and over 20 psi in the tires. More mph too.

At the end of the day I would not worry too much about a newer ZO6, except the 427. Most of those guys can't drive them for Sh!t. They could be a respectable car and formidable opponent if driven right. Yes the cars have huge horsepower and could turn easy 11's out of the box, but they don't. Their qtr mile mph is huge but their time just makes me laugh. Saw a ZO6 few weeks back at the local track go 15.10@121. What the hell is that. He was on what looked to be road racing slicks. Another guy with a Viper that is supercharged went 12.00@129. I have no problem taking on either of them at the track or the street with my 20 year little V6 with a few upgrades. As long as you know how to race your TR, then challenge him without throwing money at your car. A good tune and knowledge of your car is all your will need to get his girlfriend to ride home in "class" The worst that can happen is you made him say damn , what was that little black car that ran with my $70K investment.

I'd be more worried about the non 427 Z06's. They have had time to mod and learned to drive the cars. The thing is, the C6 Z06 is running pump gas and ready to run anytime...No race gas, no meth bottles...

A buddy has a 385 HP (the "slow one") Z06 with a Lingenfelter TT 427.

It ran 135 in the 1/4 spinning, but sounds stock at idle and looks like and "easy kill" on the street.

It is the most brutal accellerating car Over 100 mph I have ever ridden in. It was like someone ran and jumped on your chest.

I have a 385 hp slow one. Dyno'd 360/363 uncorrected to the wheels with just an airfilter mod.

Im running 110 octane and ready to run anytime. I dont ever de-tune my car for any reason but the emissions test. The stock tired Z06 isnt going to do **** against a TR that can run 130+ mph in the quarter and is equipped with drag radials. Even with the 100 dry shot. Mph will be there but the IRS and ****ty hooking tires will knock the et back a couple seconds. The S2 in my sig is going to be capable of easy 10 sec passes on 93 octane and no meth. I wish i had a higher tech engine and aerodynamics like the Vette.

Not being able to hook was one reason why I ditched the factory F1 Supercar tires in favor of Nitto 555 RII's on my vette.

He was asking about straight line performance in the first post. A highly modded TR will have no problem with any stock tired Z06. It takes a much better driver with one of those than it does with a TR. Even a slightly modded TR with drag radials will not have much of a problem more often than not. The Z06 will smash the TR in all other performance categories. Hp is just a number. Its not going to make you quick though it will make you fast.

Don't be soo sure, mid 11's aint enough! That Z06 might come right around you on the big end! They run real good!
