Why can't this happen to me? Then we would have video evidence that the new zo6 is not king of the street!

Prep the T and shut him up. Its kinda like you guys let him put a little fear in your hearts. I remember when I first met Brer Rabbit, Dr.Boost, TurboCliff and a few others at a local cruise spot. They had about 40 or so domestics including vettes, stangs, etc. scared to line up with and of the 6-8 TRs there. If you guys had of flagged him down and told him to take his pick of say 3 of the 6 you guys had there, he would have a different tude.

Good luck! I have a few friends with new zo6's that run real good! 130+ mph! Don't bring a knife to a gun fight!

no need for weapons....we mind-hump'em. Most antagonists are VERY skeptical of a TR. They pick a fight then start backtracking. I think its hilarious.

"yeah....but you prolly got a bigger turbo on it"

yep, and alky, and intercooler, and engine management, and tires, and suspension, and fuel....you picked me, suffer the consequences.

Let me know when you are comng to Nebraska, would love to see that:biggrin:

It's the second week of August every year.

Tuesday/Wednesday is hot laps at Hastings Motorsports Park, Thurs is the 1/2 mile grudge drags a Thedford, Friday is the Mile and 1/2 Mile Shootout 15 miles north of Cozad, Parade, car show and burnout contest in Arnold and Saturday is the Open Road Race from Arnold to Dunning and Back.

This Year, Ron Adee went 219.8 in the standing mile, 184 in the 1/2 mile and smashed the open road race record averaging 145 mph for 55 miles of Nebraska back roads.

The week is so much fun and since they limit it to 115 cars, it has become almost an "Invitation only" deal. Once you are in, it's easy to stay in, but getting in has become tough. I'm just glad we got in back in 2002.

I found him on the way home and kicked his butt. You didn't really believe that did you??? That guy probably didn't even know what his Vette was capable of. Brian M probably had the car most capable of handling that guy. I wouldn't be caught dead street racing on the Pike. Way too many cops as we saw first hand right in the parking lot we were at. BTW, was sort of cool that he didn't break our chops for sitting there.

I guess I could have blinded the guy with all my chrome first and then someone could have raced him. Don't remember if my hood was up in the lot or not.

Tonite I went up to the Mark's Auto Parts cruise in East Granby and made the mistake of tagging along with a couple of friends. One had a 33 Dodge street rod with an all Mopar drivetrain, (NICE!) and the other guy had a 69 Chevy Impala SS with a 427 4 speed. Well, after about 5 miles of going 50 mph on I-91 I had a enough and blew by them, got near the cruise and pulled off to the side to wait for them. Anyone driving on I-91 in CT knows driving that slow is more dangerous than going fast. Wasn't going to risk taking someone elses bumper up the keister! Besides, had a chance to dial in the new alky system some more.

My buddy Dave Graves heads/cam/Nitrous Z06 will easily run 130+ in the 1/4 since he ran 160 mph+ in the 1/2 on run flats, but MOST Z06's driven by most Z06 drivers won't run like that.

Z06's are the Viper GTS of '07. Car magazines and People that know how to flog a car ran 12.2's@118 with the '96 GTS. Joe Viper driver that showed up at the track had a struggle getting a 13.1@114 out of one.

Buying a fast car doesn't make someone fast, no matter how fast the car is.

I looked at the standing 1 mile results for Arnold and I count 6 '07 Z06's within 2 mph of my '86 Pontiac, which weighs 1000lbs more and has less HP.

Patience Grasshopper....When your beastie comes home you'll get your chance.....

Your T Type can do it easily with a good tune and traction on just alky and pump. Your stock GN is SOL as even if you tune the crap out of it you'd be lucky to run 12.0's and most likely that Z06 will be able to do that if he's looking for races with GN's. Not all Vette guys are clueless about GN's so bring the T and slay his ass.

It seems to me that you have the main components to beat him from a dig and do it convincingly. As long as you have all the supporting upgrades I wouldn't be afraid at all. Heck, you should go 130mph+ pretty easily in the 1/4.

So were there any other TB's at Mark's? I grew up in that town. Haven't been there in several years and was wondering how many cars still attend that show. From what I can remember it's the biggest show in the state. Does it still draw a lot of cars?

Btw, cops look at the age of those hanging out around nice cars when deciding to tell them to scram.... I could only wish some TB's would congregate in Bridgeport like that. The last thing Id be doing is telling them to scram.

I have seen 3 '06 and newer ZO6's at my local tracks. The best ET I saw was 12.40s at 118. And that was the best one. Being a stick it depends a lot on the driver.

They must have really sucked. I missed 3rd gear with my Dad's 07 Z first time out and still ran a 12.39 @ 114:biggrin:

Saw 3 other GN's there. Last nite they had over 900 cars. Sort of sucked coming home though as they were grinding I-91 down to get ready for paving. Took about 30 minutes to go about 2 miles thru that mess!

10.85 129.50 New Best for a Bone-stock C6Z06 on DOT Drag Radials - Corvette Forum

Enjoy reading this thread, he seems to be the bone stock Z06 guru. The air, temperature and traction must have been excellent. :)

The great thing about guys and threads like these is now EVERY Z06, even those driven by guys that have never been to a track once in their life, can "run 10's", which in reality is as likely as all Fox body mustang GT's running 13.2's Bone stock, All LS1 Camaros running 12.7's Bone stock and all viper GTS's running 11.7's Bone stock.

He had stock tires on the Vette and paper tag
Not long after he left, the cop rolled by us again
I wonder if they were fishing?

Don't forget that every Turbo Buick is stock too!
