Why can't this happen to me? Then we would have video evidence that the new zo6 is not king of the street!
"yeah....but you prolly got a bigger turbo on it"
yep, and alky, and intercooler, and engine management, and tires, and suspension, and fuel....you picked me, suffer the consequences.
I found him on the way home and kicked his butt. You didn't really believe that did you??? That guy probably didn't even know what his Vette was capable of. Brian M probably had the car most capable of handling that guy. I wouldn't be caught dead street racing on the Pike. Way too many cops as we saw first hand right in the parking lot we were at. BTW, was sort of cool that he didn't break our chops for sitting there.
I guess I could have blinded the guy with all my chrome first and then someone could have raced him. Don't remember if my hood was up in the lot or not.
Tonite I went up to the Mark's Auto Parts cruise in East Granby and made the mistake of tagging along with a couple of friends. One had a 33 Dodge street rod with an all Mopar drivetrain, (NICE!) and the other guy had a 69 Chevy Impala SS with a 427 4 speed. Well, after about 5 miles of going 50 mph on I-91 I had a enough and blew by them, got near the cruise and pulled off to the side to wait for them. Anyone driving on I-91 in CT knows driving that slow is more dangerous than going fast. Wasn't going to risk taking someone elses bumper up the keister! Besides, had a chance to dial in the new alky system some more.
I have seen 3 '06 and newer ZO6's at my local tracks. The best ET I saw was 12.40s at 118. And that was the best one. Being a stick it depends a lot on the driver.
So were there any other TB's at Mark's? I grew up in that town. Haven't been there in several years and was wondering how many cars still attend that show. From what I can remember it's the biggest show in the state. Does it still draw a lot of cars?
Btw, cops look at the age of those hanging out around nice cars when deciding to tell them to scram.... I could only wish some TB's would congregate in Bridgeport like that. The last thing Id be doing is telling them to scram.

Enjoy reading this thread, he seems to be the bone stock Z06 guru. The air, temperature and traction must have been excellent.![]()
The great thing about guys and threads like these is now EVERY Z06, even those driven by guys that have never been to a track once in their life, can "run 10's", which in reality is as likely as all Fox body mustang GT's running 13.2's Bone stock, All LS1 Camaros running 12.7's Bone stock and all viper GTS's running 11.7's Bone stock.
