1-2 Shift

Is there anyway in improving the 1-2 shifts to make it more firm? I got a new built tranny from Len with a brake. Already try to tighten the tv cable which it did help a bit but it's shifting kinda late now.

I have a AC 16930 convertor. Does higher stall convertosr really weakens the shifts that much?

Going to a higher stall will soften the feel of the shift.

You can block the 1-2 accumulaor with a check ball in the accumulator housing.
The procedure is somewhat described in Art Carr shift kit instructions. Where they tell you to install their plug, install a governor check ball in its place.

It will effect the feel more depending on stall. The smaller diameter converter also has a shift cushioning effect as well.
