Is anyone going 10's with a TE62? What was the rest of your combo and weight of the car?

I just ordered one and am curious if it is capableof it.

Thanks for any input.:D

Close friend has one on his car with a 10 sec combo, just has to get it dialed in. When that's done 10.90's should be NO problem (to date has gone 11.50's on street timing and low boost).

Combo:
TE62, .85 housing, 72# injectors, ME-R thumbwheel, 214/214 roller cam, 1.65 T&D rockers, ported iron heads, CAS V4 stock loc. IC, 3000 stall vigilante l/u converter, 3.42 rear, 27" Hoosier QT Pros.

(Note: I wen't 11.30's with a smaller PT51 & similar combo to what is listed below).

Thanks for taking the time to type all that. It's greatly appreciated.:D

Anyone else?

I have one week till I get mine and then the ta49 is up for sale. I hope the te62 is going to live up to my expectations.:D

I did it on a PTE 52 which is almost the same turbo.
50's
CAS V4
The motor should be in my website

I went 10.96 @ 126.1 on a TA 61 27psi, 55#ers, 206-206 flat tappet only to learn over 50 thousants were wiped on #3 exhaust, 3620 race weight, also just found out the 911 converter that was in that comdo. was coming apart. so I think with the roller cam I replaced flat tappet with & a good converter low 10.90's could have been acheived.

That awesome!

Any idea what happened with the converter? Thats the one I was thinking of going with.

Art Carr told me to go with one of his non-lockups. Call him. He will tell you why. I think most fast TRs are running these now.

The TE62 is about 3 steps above the PT52. The PT54 uses the same wheels as the TE61. The TE62 should make 20+ horsepower over the TE61.

Arent there like two different TE62. One is a small shaft no bigger than a 44, the other is a large shaft slightly smaller than a 63.

The small shaft was rated like at 550HP.. high 10's aint gonna happen on that turbo.

A buddy of mine bought one by accident that how I know.

I did not make the 10`s. But at 22.5 psi and a 62, my car went 11.26 @121. With a 1.68 60ft.
Many people have gone in the 10`s with a 62. That turbo has a 59mm comp wheel, and a small shaft p-trim exhaust. There is another version that uses the 49-44 ex wheel. Slightly smaller for better spool up.
Ported heads and intake, 206/206 roller cam, MJ 17 row I-C, Hemco, JJ t-b, 3400 stall 9/11 converter, T+ and LS1 maf, and worn out MT slicks. The TE-62 had an PTE 85 housing on it, which at that boost level, I am sure is overkill!

sorry for no post back been on the road for 2 weeks
when the converter would lock I dropped the rpm's over 1200 rpm when we pulled the pan off it was full of metal, & it was converter material. I would not recomened a 911 for anything faster than about 11.30
