Went to Lowes to buy a 10X8 metal shed. Price was $298. It was supposed to include a floor kit (just some metal brackets) which they said was a $79 value. Well, they don't sell the floor kit anymore, so they deducted $79 off the $298. Then it rang up as $149 before the deduction! So $149 - $79=$70! I guess they want to clear them out before winter. They still had one left yesterday in Champaign, IL.

Can you post the brand name or model number or something that I use to check if those prices are good at the Lowes in my area? Thanks.

It's the only 10X8 metal shed they sell. Brand name is Arrow, model 98483. Good luck!

I've checked 2 different Lowes in my area and they aren't on sale here. I'll keep my eyes peeled in case they decide to mark them down.

Yes that's it!

Wendy- it wasn't advertised at that price. The salespeople may not even know unless they scan it at the check out. Don't take "no" for an answer. See if they will match the Lowes in Champaign, IL. Couldn't hurt. Lowes also has great markdowns on their outdoor furniture. I see in your sig that you have a voltbooster (I think). Some say it interferes with their alchy. Is this true? There is a thread on voltboosters where Richard Clark says they work real well, at least the one from Caspers. Supposed to increase voltage by 2 volts at WOT. Do you have any opinions on it? thanks.

OK I'll get them to scan it. I'll also ask about price matching.
My Voltron unit is a Caspers peice and it works great. I've not noticed any adverse affects on the alky with it.

OK Rick here is what I learned from spending ALL DAY traveling to every Lowes in my area. The 10x8 Arrow sheds now come with a floor kit in the box. The OLD 10x8 Arrow sheds required a seperate floor kit to be purchased. Lowes has reduced the price of the remaining OLD style 10x8 Arrow sheds. The model number you provided was HUGE in helping to figure this out. Thanks man I needed a shed. I'll be moving into a new house soon and I needed a shed for the new backyard. After traveling to every Lowes within 83hours travel time I was able to fine ONE of the sale priced Arrow sheds for $150 and I convinced them to throw in a floor kit for it. Thanks a bunch. I actually found another one but the Lowes that has it doesn't have a floor kit and won't budge off the price. I may go back and get it anyway and just make my own floor kit. It would be nice to have a 10x16 shed for $300.

Was able to pic up a second one for $130. Now I'll have a 16'X10' storage shed for $280. I can't thank you enough Rick as this came at a perfect time for me.

Wow! 10X16 is huge. I was looking at a 10X12 at Lowes and thought that would be a great size. I already have a 3 car garage and I still can't easily move my mower around the cars. I spent 4 hours working on the shed today. I already built the wood floor (wood was over $100). Also bought indoor/outdoor carpeting ($42) and glue ($15). Here is an idea for you regarding lighting-Menards (and I'm sure Lowes) carries motion activated solar lights. Looks like a spotlight that you would mount to the side of the house. Solar sensor mounts outside of the shed, light mounts inside, turns on when you open the door. Will hook it up when I complete this thing, hopefully tomorrow (Sunday). Got stumped on a brace that connects to the gable. Will go to Lowes and look at their display. As for that floor kit...I'm really not sure what it does. They show a pic of it in the instruction manual. Wendy-you might want to buy a rechargeable screw driver if you don't have one. I may get that Caspers voltbooster. I might already have one that came with the car, if I can find it. Did you buy a new house? I assume you did if you are installing a non movable shed. No thanks needed....just send pics of yourself:biggrin:

Yes I just bought a new house. I'll have one of the 10X8 sections for all my car parts and the other 10X8 section will house the mower and do typical shed duties. The floor kit is useless for me. I built a 10X16 base and decked it with 1/2" treated plywood. The sheds are going on top of that. The flooring kit is built inside the shed and then the floor goes on top inside the shed. Thats going to cost you about 4" of headroom in an already vertically challenged building. I'd rather do what I'm doing and not lose the interior height by adding that floor kit.

Here are two pics that I already posted in the Lounge area.

You can see the corner of my GN in the last pic. I didn't like those big wheels and prefer my Lightning with the chromed stock wheels.

lol Nasty Wendy always puts up some killer pics ! Good luck on the shed but it will never be big enough ! I always fill them up before I can turn around. Daniel

Thanks for the pics, Wendy. Has anybody noticed that the Nats at BG is shorter in Oct. than in previous years? Gives me less time to shop for parts to fill up my new shed!
