I had heard years ago (about 7) that there was a Brand New GN at Buick dealership nearby. Since I didn't own a GN until aboput a year and a half ago I never gave it much thought. I happened to be driving by the dealership the other day when my memory clicked in and I turned around to see if this car was still there.
To my surprise the car is still in the showroom. Brand new. 112 miles on the odometer. I was lucky enough to meet the owner of the dealership and spent some time speaking with him. He used to street race GS's back in the day. Plus he told me he takes the GN out once in a while and runs it around the block.
I was actually lucky enough to get to sit it in. It was a real treat to sit in a brand new GN. Probably something I will never get to do again. LOL
The car is for sale he wants $41,000 for. I know that price will probably cause controversy here but it has to be one of the lowest mile cars out there.
Anyway, sorry to ramble, but for me it was just such a cool experiance.

$41,000 he needs to put his crack pipe away. I would take about 15 years before the car is worth that, by then he'll want $82,000 and the head liner will be saging then it wont be all orriginal:D

i'd gladly pay that much for a 112 mile gn.

if i was bill gates. the guys crazy, but then again how often do you see one with that few miles?

Matthew,
Where in Virginia is that dealership. If it is close enough to me I would like to drop by sometime and take a look at it.:D

The one you are talking about is an 86---if i have the right car(he was asking $41000 for it like 5 years ago also. There is a lower mileage 87 over in Mannassas if you get bored--it is on the showroom floor also.

I saw a 138 mile car still sell for 30k a year ago! Moreover, it sold in a matter of just a few days, so that tells me there are some collectors out there that are hot on low mileage GN's. With the way the classic car market values are skyrocketing any thing is possible.

Who would have ever guessed a 4-speed Hemi " Cuda convertable would sell for 2 million at Barrett-Jackson recently??

There was an 87 GN at Nats this year with 17 miles on it. I took a pic of the odometer. The car was also not dealer prepped. Still had all the plastic on everything.

Get your turbo car's now. Buy more than one if you are smart. The 86-87 TR's are every respected collectors list of near future stars. At Barrett-Jackson the car's were the first car mentioned when the question was asked about collector vehicles from the recent past that will jump in value.

I got mine 2 years ago with a little over 400 miles on the clock. It has 1,900 now and the first $25,000 takes it :D. Still 100% original....except for the battery.

The car I am speaking about is the one in Manassas. And it is an 87. I had mentioned that is was on the showroom floor.

The owner does want to sell it. I beleive if he advertises nationally he would find a buyer for it. He actually told me he is getting tired of having it around.

In any case a very cool car and a kick butt experiance for me!

Then there is another brand new 86 over near Maryland that the owner wants about the same money--cool cars---I can remember back in 87 when manassas had 20 Gn's lined across the front of the showroom:cool:

VERY nice!

At times I wish I had two ... one absolutely perfect, and bone stock (warts and all). And a second (need not be a GN, could be just plain TR) that I wouldn't have any qualms over modifying or thrashing.

From signature, you'll see I keep mods to a minimum and "stock appearing".

what dealer in manassas is this? I'll be up there next weekend for a wedding and I want to drop by and check it out.

Here's a thought for ya. Wouldn't a new (never titled) GN that is on a dealers lot still carry the original factory warranty?

im sure there is a stupid loop hole that says no, but normally if i buy a current year model new car....my warranty is good X years from the day i drive it off the lot...even late in the model year....

My Uncle lives in Manassas and told me about the 87 as well. Next time I go down to visit I plan on checking it out also.
