help! i can only make 13# of boost. even if i crank my rjc boost reg. all the way it still makes 13#.. so can any one tell me the best way to check for leaks around my innercooler? or any other help would be great!! thanks Terry

take off your vacuum line and ease into the throttle and see if it spikes to 18 or so but bee carefull do it for a second. that would eliminate any puck problems i had the same thing happen to me i had to take the rjc bleeder apart and stretch the spring a little and now i get 14 on two threads and goes to who know how much only running 18# anyway try that

I just talked to jace Fri and he also recommended removing the ceramic ball that iws under the spring and cleaning the ball seat with a swab.

I can only get 10psi of boost. I have checked the hoses, turbo blades, puck on the down pipe, plenum gasket, disconnected the waste gate still 10psi, checked boost gauge with another boost gauge, put new headers on, and checked all vacuum lines.

I am about to pull my hair out.

Did this start suddenly? If you have that big of a leak, it should show in your BLM readings. Sounds like the classic boost solenoid issue.

I have the RJC Boost Control that takes place of the stock solenoid. but thank you ;)

I was having a very similiar issue with the RJC on mine not allowing any boost past 16 Lbs. I called Race Jace Thurs. or Fri. and he told me that they get dirt occasionally between the seat and the ceramic ball under the spring, and to take it apart and clean the seat under the ceramic ball and spring. Morgan had a similiar issue and he took his apart, cleaned it, stretched the spring, and put it back together, and his worked well after that.
E-mail me your phone or cell # if I can be of any assistance.

this morning my brother and i took off the rjc controler, cleaned it and streched the spring and BAM!! 30#of boost! i thought i was being easy on the gas! hope i dident blow a head gasket... turned it down to about 18# and everything seems good now.. thanks for everybodys help ;) Terry

I have taken the vacuum line off the turbo. So that bypasses the rjc and still nothing.

Ok... are you positive your boost gauge is reading correctly. Test it and see. I had a leak in the line to my boost gauge once and it was only reading 9psi. Gave me fits until I figured it out.

Test all the vac lines that would feed the boost gauge for leaks too. Mine was leaking at one of the rubber connectors on the vac block on top of the plenum.

I read your posts and it seems to me that since you have taken the hoses off the wastegate and still dont get more than 10 psi then i would check this.

Make sure the wastegate arm on your THDP swings open and closed freely and doesnt bind.
Then make sure the PUCK seals the hole in the exhaust housing, if you purchased the turbo used, it may be opened too large for your application.

Does the car take forever to spool?
What heads do you have?
Does the turbo have all of its fins on the exhaust side?

That's what it was I went up to Turbo Lou's today & that's what he found! It was under the Vac line at the Block. All of my lines had a crack under them except the larger hose at the end.

Thank You!!

Thank You Guy's for all your help it was the vac line at the vac block.

Wow! I bought new headers that wasn't it.

Lou found the the turbine side of the turbo had a chip in one fin. That was weird. Anyways the car is at 20psi 780 and No Knock! So HAPPY!!!!

Thanks again Guys Brent

Good news that you got her fixed. Kinda scary thinking about how much boost you were running when you thought you were only running ten psi ehh?? Glad you didn't hurt anything.
