Guys Im looking at A Center Line warrior rim in the above listed size and back space.
I know that a 15x10 with 4.5 bs will work in this application with a 28x10.5 ET Drag , but will the other rim work also with the same tire?. The fender lips have been rolled and trimmed, so i have no fittiment issues there. A spacer will be ok. I already have the long studs.

Anyone with knowledge into this please reply. Thanks

Can't tell you for sure, but you can use some simple physics. You will need to measure the section width of the tire , not the treadwidth and the clearance on the current combo to the inside frame rail. The reduction of 1 inch in wheel width should reduce the mounted section width of the tire. You are however, losing the entire 1" on the outside, so the tire will actually be pulled ¼" to the inside. If you have less than a ½" clearance on the inside now, you are going to be really close. You may have to use a thin spacer. 28x10.5s are approved for use on a 9" rim, so no problems there.

Thanks Joe;) I might not be able to use this rim anyways as they are back ordered till 8/02:mad:

DOH! I though you already had the 15x10s on your car. Those wheels are bad. I've been drooling over those for a while now. Either that or a 17" version that have the same pattern, but have a cover over the lugs. A 17x9 or 17x10 wheel for the rear and 17x8 up front would look killer.

Louie's wheelz??

In the FWIW dept..
I have 15" C/L's that are 8" w/4.0" BS and have MT 10.5 x 28 x 15 slicks on them. I had to use a 3/16" spacer to make them fit and they rubbed the frame on ocassion, anyway!![And my car has new body and axle bushings and the body is STRAIGHT on the frame].
Having said that, I see NO WAY a wheel, regardless of overall width, w/ a BS of 4.5" is gonna fit. 10" w/ 4" BS and the frame cut would move the bead seat out on the tire and make the footprint a bit better.. maybe a bit better stability at high speeds too..12.40@133!!
I have just completed moving the outer 1/2 of the frame in to flush w/ the inner 1/2.. NOT A FUN JOB!!
As a result, the spacers went away and I have plenty of clearance on both the inner wheel house and frame and outer fender lipz!
Spacers get really "iffy" from a safety standpoint, as the studs are then subjected to added bending forces they were not designed to take...
My story, and I'm stickin to it!!:D :D :D

Thanks for the info Chuck. The reason I ask is that there are plenty of folks out there using Weld 15x10s with a 4.5 BS (28x10.5 MT) with NO frame mods. Im planning to mod the frame, just not just yet, at least till the Offcenter monster goes in!

I have been told that the 15x9 rim with 4.5 bs will work with a 7/16 spacer for now, until the frame mods is done. Just trying to buy one last and final set of rims. Louie Jr is on his way and the wifey isnt gonna put my yearly wheel fashion show...LOL

Im about to build a angle steel contraption to bolt to the rear drums and aid in finding out exactly what will work in there.

???

Louie, can't IMAGINE a 4.5" BS on my car w/out some serious spacers!! like I said.. Mt's had to have a 3/16".. These folks are using spacers, right??
I may move to a set of Monocoques and will use the 10" w/ a 4.0" BS..

So, you will have a net BS of 4 1/16".. My net was 3 13/16" and had problems.. GOOD LUCK! and let us know what you find out w/ the tool..

Ill keep ya posted.
Rich Rezes use the 10 in rim w/ 28x10.5 MT on his car. I sent him an email so hopefully he can set me staight.:D

Gettin strait?

Louie, how bout posting the info when/if rich responds. I'd like to try a wider rim, but am like you and don't want to do it twice!!;)

Well Rich just set me straight, hes not running this wheel combo. Now i just have to remember who it was....

Dohhh!!! But ill find some one who is.

Anyone????? Bueler? Bueler???:D

After doing more research it , I found out that I was not crazy. the wheel will fit, just not with that tire.:(

It looks more and more like ill end up with a plain old tried and true 15x8 with 3.5 BS , like every one uses and works with. I may also have to go with a narrower slick, cause i dont dig the big bulging side wall the big slick would be sportin.......

Just have to go with a Hoosier, cause its 28x9 is the only one that really is 28 in tall unlike the MT 28x9.

Combo??

Louie, I'd think that a 15 X 9" would look good w/ the 28 X 10.5 MT.
"Old school" thinking was up to a 10" slick, the rim could be 2" narrower and still work well. After 10", the rim should match the tire width. Still works for me!

IF you are cutting the frame face, then the 9", or even the 10" would work, but I would do the 4" BS if using the 10" wheel, to stay away from the fender lip... unless it's already rolled. Mine aren't. I can send some pic's if anyone is interested.

Measure the backspace of the stock rims. Mine are in storage so I can't..... They sit closer to the frame than my 15x8.5s with a 3.5"BS. I am guessing that a 4" BS with a 10" rim would fit with a 10.5" tire. If the tire is too tall it will probably interfere on the outer fender lip if they have not been "messaged". Anyone confirm this?

Too tall?

Joe, My tires are 28" tall and I have the Edelbrock sport springs on the car at all 4 corners. This lowers the car bout an 1". So far I've not had outer side wheel contact w/ the fenderwell.
I think some folks w/ stock springs and old shocks may have a problem with contact when the car launches and squats. This could be aggravated w/ worn out body bushings, body not on the frame strait, rear axle in crooked due to C/A bushings worn out, etc.
my recommendation would be to go thru the suspension, body mounts, check for square, etc and be sure everything is right B4 I spent the bucks on tires and wheels that may/may not work.;) ;)

Louie,

Will snap pics for you tomorrow as well as will remeasure the BS, I bought the rims 11 years ago and being as tho I am starting to lose it at 38 (henceforth the remeasure of BS........lol) and I will report back to you.

Stay well.

Sure thing......should have em tomorrow and like I said will double check the BS.
