Bryan that one should pull about $7k.I have seen them go for $4k needing alot of work & paint & interior work.
I passed on 2 of them 2 months ago for $6500 Just needed too much work.

Wow, thats actually higher than i thought it would go for.
I thought the lower mileaged cars were around 10K, but i havent looked at them for 5 years or so.

Would make a nice LC2 transplant car, too bad they didnt have limited style interiors...

Thanks for the reply Brian.

hey i own two of these, one i just finished restoring, one wore out.when i go to shows i always go to car corral and every once in awhile ill see one and i note the asking/actual selling price.ive seen good ones sold for $6500.this one is an original owner car with some refurbishing done, should be $7500 range like bweavey said.missed one in alabama a couple of months ago for $2700.needed an engine/paint.i think they are a good investment.

thats what i would like to do with the other one (turbo v6) too.maybe black it out and a cowl hood.leave all the badges/decals off and keep people guessing:biggrin:

If it was lower mileage it would be in the $10k Range.I'm going on the fact that it is well documented & the seller is being honest.
I have noticed the price of Montes are climbing.I own 3 aero coupes myself & would love to have a 2+2. Just don't want to spend $4k & put another 5K in it:D
If your going to do a Buick motor find 1 for $2500 & have at it.I was looking for 1 to drop a Pontiac 400-455 in.I all I wanted was a nice body & interior but the problem is if they have that the drive trane is good & your paying alot for a 305!

I didnt say i was going to be the buyer, i am interested in it, but definitely wouldnt spend over 6 for the car.

Its a nice car, but definitely low on horsepower to weight ratio.

I got too many projects anyway:redface:

they are slow.the monte ss has a better rep for performance, but they are slow too.were just spoiled:p

That is very nice for 100K miles. Mine was no where near that nice with 100K on on it (but I guess it had 100K on it 10 year ago) and I paid $4200.

If someone gets it for $6500, that would be a great deal, that will only go up in value.

They are the best G-body to modify to make something different because very few people know what they are and the aero REALLY works.

Would I own one with a 305?

Life is too short.

Gary,
I never thought about that. Your project vahicle is staring you in the face. You can make the only 2+2 GN in existance. I'll bet it will bolt right up!

Call me this weekend,
Patrick

I was at the U-Pull-it last month looking at a 67 Tempest with the OHC straight 6 thinking what I could do if I had the motor laying in the garage. I always liked that old Red Baron T-Bucket with that motor and the 6 zoomies for exhaust. The next day I'm putting gas in the GN and the lady on the other side of the pump is looking at me like I have my fly open or something. She than asks me if that was a GN. I answer her questions and than she says she has a GP 2+2 and was quite surprised that I knew what it was. It sounded like it was ready for a trip to the crusher. Anyway I gave her my business card and told her to call me when she is ready to sell it. Whatya think? A true Pontiac powered GP 2+2. Slap on a turbo with some EFI, maybe a T-56.

It's a nice car, but not worth 6500+. NOt in my book anyway. Reason: it's got the LG4 5.0 in it. Best known as the least powerfull of the 5.0's back then.
Now, if it had the L69 5.0 in it, I'd even be tempted.

LG4=145hp
L69=190hp

I Ran Across This Bulletin For The 2+2

Hey guys check this out. Sorry I had to convert it to a txt so its hard to read. Anyway I wonder how many GP 2+2s had this correct label installed? Basically the GP 2+2 was the only GP to get 15 inch wheels and since Cars&Concepts just converted base GPs into 2+2 is the reason this minor detail was missed. I wonder if the 14 inch tire label adds any value to this car?

BTW Dave, the L-69 installed in a G-body was only 180HP. The F-body was 190HP because it had a dual snorkel air cleaner.

thats interesting turbofish38.ill check my cars this weekend.

patrick, ill call ya.yep the lc2 will bolt in along with trans, harness, already has gn rear i swaped out years ago.maybe find gn hood and weld the buldge onto the gp hood, hhhhmmmmmm.

I sold a very nice 2+2 this sping. Nice correct repaint on a 1 owner, never wrecked, lady owned car. Superb interior and 80K miles. Car was very nice and correct. It brought $8750, that's it!

Parts are VERY hard to find if you are missing Aero unique parts. No parts interchange with the aero Monte Carlo. If you buy one of these cars, make sure it is complete and the unique parts are in nice condition!

Personally, these are neat cars but not worth restoring at this time. When $10K will buy you the nicest one out there, you buy one of these cars nice/done and do not restore them. If you are going to invest your time in effort, restore something that is worth something.

The seller called me tonight and we spoke about the car. It was painted at the local dealership, and was in dry storage as the ad states. (barn)

Dave-
I could care less if the car has a 5.0 or a 0.5 engine in it:wink: , i would take that turd of a motor out and install a 3.8 turbo buick to motivate it..
Actually that part came up in our conversation, he noticed my ebay name and wondered what i would be doing with the 2+2 if i bought it.
His comment was,.. WOW finally a 2+2 that would actually move!

Turns out that the current owner used to be in the local pontiac club, i probably knew his dad, or possibly even him about 15 to 20 years ago.

I agree with you, i dont think the car is worth more than 6k,.. well, to me at least.

Well good luck to the owner of the car, i was outbid in the last 23 seconds.

I went and looked at the car yesterday... It was a very nice car.

Oh well, guess i have some other stuff to take care of this week anyhow.
