1986 WH1 Paint codes

My cowl tag shows D86 which means it's a Designers' Pkg.(WH1 on RPO tag)

Paint codes on the tag shows 19L 15M 19U 82E AM6

I know 19 means black paint for the upper and lower but what
color is the 15 for the middle and what do the other codes mean?
Interior maybe, thanks guys!


It is a T-Type, W11 code also.

19L -19 Lower Black
15M - 15 Middle Medium Grey Metalic
19U - 19 upper Black
82E - Trim Combination, Cloth, Med Dk Gray (E) (91) I assume this is interior since it says cloth.
AM6 -Seat, Frt Split, 3 Pass, Ctr Arm rest

My 86 WH1 is the same except instead of AM6, I have AR9. Mine has buckets.

On my RPO codes on the truck lid, it has 19U and 15L

15L is Secondary color, Exterior, Astral Silver (91)
19U is Primary Color, Exterior, Lamp Black (91)

I believe the 15 = ASTRAL SILVER (not available as a primary color that year), 82E= trim combo, Med Dk Grey cloth, AM6= Seat, front split, 3 passenger with center arm rest.

Mine has the 15L and 19U on the RPO tag also. The interior color is gray.
The bench seat is what I would call a 60/40.

15 is the medium grey metallic. Now hold on to your lunch: my 86 WH1 shows a "16L": silver metallic! Think somebody was hungover that day?

Are you looking to paint your car? I'm sure I can get you the WA # that I used when I repainted my 86 WH1. The WA number is easier to use. I believe code 15M has 3 different color chips in a PPG paint book.

I am not going to paint right away, I was just curious as to what color #15 was, now I know. What does baffle me though, is that the invoice shows D68 which is remote outside mirrors, but I can't find the knob to control the passenger mirror! Any ideas anyone?

Maybe somebody switched the speedo cluster bezel at one time and just pushed the rt door mirror control behind the bezel.

Good idea, I'll take off the cluster bezel and check it. I thought that's where the remote knob should have been, thanks.
