Does anyone know if GM used slightly different spring rates in the Grand National's and Monte Carlo's in their last year of production - 1987?

It seems those year cars, especially in the front, sit a little higher than the before year models. Perhaps GM switched to a different spring supplier or changed the spec on the spring rate for some reason.

Just wondering.....
 
yes, the 86's sat lower
check your rpo sticker in the trunk and you'll see the springs listed
6.. left front
7.. right front
8.. left rear
9.. right rear

from my 86 and 87 hardtops , both are similar equipped loaded GN's
86 rpo 6XT /7XT front , 8HP 9HP rear
87rpo 6YX/7YW front ... 8PZ /9SJ rear

87's did sit higher in front. GM had about 12 springs each year. They would pick 4 for each car that would keep it as level as possible. I'll grab all the rpo codes and post them.
