Awesome info. I lock-tited the stator support bolts to keep them in. Hoping mine don't fall out or come loose.

Yes sanding , good info. A piece of glass and fine sand paper. And double gaskets for adjustment, Good stuff.

That would be very unlikely. The only time that washer is hurt (when the bolts are in place) is when it's setup too tight. Look at the helix of the gears. That explains it.

When you accelerate the planet pulls together. When you engine brake the planet goes on coast side and pulls apart. This can be seen on any 200 as the OD ring gear washer on just about every transmission has high wear as does the pump thrust. You can see from the pics provided he has a transbrake and has said many hard launches. You load up on the T-brake planet pulls together. Run threw the gears and let off gas planet slams apart from being heavily loaded and suddenly released. Same goes for stall testing. Load up and release the Pump washer gets hammered. You can clearly see from the pics he provided the washer has very little shedding. Too tight you have a wiping of the washer much more shedding. There is next to none. You can also see that the washer is broken. The next clue is no gouging in center of the OD clutch housing that is common with loose bolts. But wear is if heads were contacted, As Dave pointed out The washer broke and the clutch housing wore against the stator bolts till they were worn threw. Its also obvious that the stator is broken on the opposite direction of torque. Loading up on converter for a stall test and letting off the gas. This shocks the stator in the opposite direction. See this on 400s. Since I had all these parts in hand this is what i came up with.
 
I would rather not say . He is taking care of it though . And no I didn't find a torq screws anywhere :-( does that connect that shaft to the back of the pump ?

Something was installed here. How did the witness marks get there? What caused the damage to the clutch housing?

The real mystery is how did we get gouging in the bolt circle? Why is there very little wear marks on the back of the stator and no wear on the stator in the area pictured? If there were no fasteners is this possible?

Hi Dave,
Guess you missed the sarcasm. It was said there were no bolts installed. The evidence shows that bolts were installed. You can also see where the heads of the bolts wore into the clutch housing. I do agree stuff happens.
