My tranny used to slip REAL bad going into 3rd gear, I was told it was cavitation so I put in a 700-r4 filter like I heard about elsewhere on this board. It worked a bit, it isn't anywhere near as bad as it used to be, but it still isn't the instant firm shift I want. It only does this at wot.

Any suggestions? Any easy fixes?

Thanks
Brian

drum band burned and slipping you need a rebuilt to fix your problem, no matter what you do is will just be a temporary fix and eventually will get worst.

Sounds like it could be a pressure problem since it only does it at WOT. More than likely it'll have to come out. But if you can get access to a tranny pressure gauge, that may help you get an idea of what the possible problem is.

If it sucked air at one time and was subjected to any amount of torque, the band (1-2, 3-2) and direct clutches and steels(2-3, 4-3) will be shot. My advise would be to replace the forward housing with a billet one and dual feed the direct clutches. Get the correct pan for your application. The stock pan and filter setup isnt adequate for these cars if they get good traction. This is a hard lesson learned with no easy fix unless you rebuild transmissions yourself.

hey Chris from ck performance, could you shoot me a pm with a price tag on the parts I need? Or any other transmission guru, not picky.

WOOO HOOOO! After a few trips around the block and some adjusting of the t.v. cable........bam! Hit's third gear instant and hard. Awesome.

nope. I had to take it in about 5 or 6 clicks. I first had it adjusted to wot, I just pushed in the button and opened up the carb and left it where it stopped.

Once I started playing around with it I noticed huge changes in the shifting. That little device is cool.

You have just put a band aid on your trannie, just wait and in a few WOT blast it will start to slip again ;)..

:( I kinda figured.......oh well, only time will tell. Hopefully it lasts for a little while anyway.
