Hi Guys, I just picked up a 200-4R, not easily found when looking for one. I came across it and did not want to turn it down.

On the yellow tag by the tailshaft 033-872HTF1288 came with converter, dipstick and converter insp. cover.

Fluid is red and doesn't smell. Plan on rebuild with new soft parts, CK kit and billet servo. GN or MC governor?

There was a thread once here that all 200-4R trans have the same cases but different preference to MCSS, GN or other Vbodies, servo and governors.

Ideas?
Will go behind a 327/300 hp SBC eventually,(driver).

Thanks

All of the 2004R Vbs can be made to perform well. That core is just as good as any.

Thanks quickt

Would you know what this trans might have come out of with an HTF code? Was this from a 1988 or 1987 car?

I think this is what I understand. If the trans is rebuilt and add a shift recalibration kit, billet servo, the only thing I need is a governor. What can be done to the governor or which governor do I need to use to make this work?

Any suggestions?

Start with gov you have and peel off weight till it shifts where you want. There are only 3 that I know of Heavy, Mid weight and light thats used in the BR and a couple others. I start with the mid weight and cut it to what I need. The light weight will probably shift too high. I am not sure the model but I have converted many HTs

Thanks guys,

I was searching this site for a chart I once seen here with all the years, codes and applications the 200 4R was used in.

Is that what your link is, 'cause I can't get it to work for me.

This is odd.

If I try to link from this thread, it doesn't work. Either one.

If I hit the link through the notice I get in my mailbox from Turbobuick that I have a reply to my thread, it works.

Anyways I got it and THAT is what I was looking for.

Thanks everyone for the help.
