I found a 2004r trans that is said to be out of a 87monte carlo ss.
the code is CRF. The only info I can find about the monte carlo ss states the code should be CZ. Anyone know?

this is a non ho 305 v8 monte carlo ss transmission code w/ a 3.08 or 3.23 final drive ratio.itll give 4500 rpm wot upshifts.shift timing is exceptionally well as compared to othe non ho calibrations from this time period.

ARE THESE PARTS WORTH IT?

I can pick up the valve body, governor, servo, sep plate for $150.
I am trying to find another valve body to replace the one that got messed up with the trans-go shift kit. The valve body in it is CZF from monte ss and it has problems since someone swapped governor holes on the plate and the v/b was modified.

IS IT WORTH IT

Can this be set up to perform like the CZF? I have the correct governor already I just need to install a shift kit with this valve body and install it. Could I send it to one of the big trans gurus to get a cal on it?
